Very worth visiting. There are multiple view points over 50+ km, however only really 3 major sights that involve a bit of a walk: garganta del diablo, el anfiteatro and los castillos. Garganta and the anfiteatro are within one km of each other, so it's easy to walk between the two. You probably only need about 1 hour to see both sites. To get here without a tour bus, take the flecha bus from Cafayate bus terminal. It stops at Garganta. Cost is 112 pesos. The bus leaves at 08.30, 10.30 and 14.00. Takes about 50 or so minutes. Beautiful scenery along the way! After you've seen Garganta, you can walk to the anfiteatro and have a look around. There is a bus stop right outside on the opposite side of the street where you can catch a bus back to Cafayate. Price is the same. Pay the driver when you get on. The bus comes at 13.25 and 15.55. other options invite hitch hiking! You don't get to see Los Castillos properly doing this, but you do get a glimpse on the bus. If you do want to take a tour, the are a few companies in Cafayate (e.g. ipuna) which will bring you here for about 850 pesos. The tour is at 2.30 p.m. and lasts for about 4-5 hrs. Can't tell you about the quality, but the Google reviews are not encouraging!!

This vineyard is located in Tolombon, an exclusive high altitude landscape, 25 km far from the city of Cafayate. The builiding was full made by stones, mineral extracted in the same location. The intense sun, the altitude, and the extremely stone soil facilitates the early growth of the grapes, being the first vineyard to start the harvest every year among the Calchaqui Valleys.

Certainly one of the best Wine Museums I have had the good fortune to view. Indeed this was our second visit in 4 years. A BUCKET LIST location if you like wine. Kudos to the designer. There is a small fee to enter ..Foreign seniors no discount this time. Allow yourself at least 30+ minutes to view the exhibits in each section. The first gives one of the most comprehensive informative presentation on the various characteristic that makes this a world class wine growing area. The second part take you on another visual and verbal ( written Spanish and English ) tour of the early history of various vineyards and the processes. A Must Visit in Cafayate... and just a few minutes walk down from the main Plaza.

Beautiful red rocked landscape amidst dry dessert greenery with steep slippery stone walkways and moments of danger with hidden crevices to climb mean you should get a guide. Each waterfall will set you back about 40 pesos per person so it’s worth it. Bring sturdy shoes and plan to get wet. See pristine water you can drink and enjoy wading in pools of fresh rainfall. We only did the first waterfall which took about 30 minutes to reach. Bring water!

We are a family winery and that defines our vitiviniculture. El Porvenir de Cafayate is the luxury of being able to think long-term. We believe in Cafayate, its potential, its people, its history and its culture. We feel a deep respect and love for our terroir and we want this to be reflected in our wines. We seek to become better and better each day, in search of an unprecedented, unique level of quality. We take the legacy of our ancestors and, following the entrepreneurial spirit, we add innovative ideas, seeking our own betterment.Cafayate is our terroir and the cradle of our labor, where we simply add the most important element: the family. In El Porvenir de Cafayate we have maintained a vision: to make exceptional wines in a sustainable manner. And with the passing of each harvest, we feel that this vision is realized more and more strongly, as we achieve honest, true wines that reflect their origin. We proudly represent the essence of Cafayate.
Last Saturday when we were in Cafayate 5 of us visited a few bodegas to sample their wines. El Porvenir was by far the best. It is a bit pricier than the others we went to but so worth it. Adriana was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the wines she served us. She also gave us background on history etc. and was very engaged and answered all of our questions. As our Spanish leaves much to be desired, it was great that Adriana's English was very good . Thank you for a great time and good wine.

Without a doubt the best views of all vineyards in the already beautiful area. They offer wine tours and tastings in Spanish. The tour is not that long, but the tasting was more elaborate than others. The wines were also very tasty, all from the Las Nubes own brand. We enjoyed an additional bottle of the Mounier brand paired with a sharing platter of cheese and meats. Absolutely a treat on the outside seating area in the ever present sun We combined this visit with a hike to a nearby waterfall at Rio Colorado which is I can highly recommend.

We have definitely made a right choice coming to this winery. We were the only visitors, wine was great, estate is beautiful with extensive collection of cactuses and beautiful mountain view. Girl who was doing the wine tasting did a personal tour of the winery for us and we have spent enjoyable couple of hours there. Cheese was great too.

In the heart of the Calchaqui Valleys, in Cafayate, Salta, at 1,700 meters above sea level, surrounded by a beautiful natural landscape, is Bodega El Esteco. In this inhospitable place, grapes of excellent quality are obtained for the production of wines of great character and unique personality. Wines of limited productions designed to accompany the highest cuisine. Wines that awaken the adventure, which drive to experience new sensations. We invite you to tour our winery and enjoy a tasting of our best wines.
During our road trip we decided to reach Cafayate from Salta, and to stop by the bodega El Esteco to get some rest and a good lunch. We enjoyed this place so much, it was actually a paradise... Surrounded by vineyard, the bodega itself is in a perfect Argentinian style. We had our lunch on the terrasse, by the pool, enjoying a wonderful meat and some local wine... Food was extra, service perfect, and the place amazing... nothing to had! We wish to come back soon!

Not just the Garganta del Diablo but the entire route to Cafayate is something out of this world. There are many spots along the way that you should stop and enjoy the views and the amazing natural formations.
