The CSA Ski and Snowboarding School Silvia Grillitsch has established itself as the quality ski school in Obertauern and is now a professional trend-setter in all snow sports. Our service: ski courses for children and adults, private lessons, snowboarding lessons, cross country, off piste skiing, snow shoe walking, all kind of events, ski tours, airboarding, ice climbing and a lot more.
Our 3 kids had a great ski week in Obertauern with ski instructors Stefan and Torm. In different levels and ages, all 3 made a great progress and had a lot of fun. The instructors invested time in improving the kids' skiing skills, so by the end of the week their improvement was obvious (this is true even regarding our oldest son who was able to ski on black slopes before the week had started!). Our little boy (6 years old) does not speak German nor English, but had full understanding with his guide. We had sunny days, windy days, snowy days and even some rain this morning, but nothing kept them away from skiing with the group. Everything about this school was working well, what gave us time for ourselves, knowing that the kids are safe and having fun. Thank you again Stefan and Torm and the rest of the team at CSA skischule Obertauern!

FlyTandem Paragliding offers paragliding tandem flight over Salzburg City. If you ever dreamed to fly like a bird, paragliding comes very close to this feeling. Together with a well-experienced tandem pilot, you get that sensation to move freely like a bird in the air. Only a few steps are necessary to get airborn! Meeting point is the Kohlmayr's Restaurant on top of Mt. Gaisberg which you can reach easy with the public bus in about 30min from city center (number 151).

The Skischool & Snowboardschool in Rauris! Skischool Maier! Our School exists since 1959! Skischool - Snowboardschool - Rental - Ski- & Snowboard-Service
We hired our equipment from here with no problems. The equipment was in good condition. My boots were not a good fit so I changed with no complaints. We had a private lesson which was good value and I learnt alot. Thanks Paul. (From holland) I would use them again.

Great way to spend a few hours of a trip to Salzburg. Particularly at this time of year when there's plenty of snow at the top (but none in town). On a clear day, such as we had, the views were great and it's really nice in the sunny weather. Cable car up is pricey (EUR25 return), but it is free with a Salzburg Card (one of its many many benefits). Easy to reach from the town centre by bus. One of the bus routes (route 25) also goes via Hellbrunn and Salzburg Zoo, so it is very easy to combine all 3 into an excellent day trip (as we did).

We visited this attraction in September 2019. Breath-taking. Definitely no photos to help preserve the ice. Fitness level required to hike up to the cave entrance plus climb stairs inside the cave (700!), Postcards available in the gift shop to help you bring home photos to show your friends. Dress warmly, you ARE in a cave full of ice.

The Kitzsteinhorn is legendary: it`s not just a glacier – it`s THE glacier. Salzburg`s highest ski area offers an unparalleleld Alpine experience 365 days a year. It`s here that the winter season begins. Starting in autumn, you`ll already find the perfect snow for a perfect winter sports experience. Whether you`re racing down pristine white slopes or the spectacular off-piste ski routes or on your board in the snowparks, the variety of choices you`ll find is unmatched.
The Kitzsteinhorn cable car is a scenic 'must do' for anyone visiting Salzburgerland province of Austria. Located about 20 minutes from Kaprun, the cable car gives visitors an awe-inspiring trip to "Top of Salzburg at 3,029 metres" in three distinct legs - a gondola, then chairlift, finally a cable car. The views and scenery change throughout the journey, and you get to appreciate the truly amazing geography that has formed the Alps. The Gipfelwelt exhibition is located in a tunnel bored through the summit of the mountain, and it is an interesting display about the formation and geology of the Hohe Tauern mountains and glaciers. Caution here...at this altitude the air is thin and walking back up through the tunnel can suddenly leave you totally out of breath. The lifts are modern, competently operated and you feel completely safe as you're whisked up over cliffs, ravines, snowfields and people and animals passing by underneath.

Easily one of the best outdoor activities I have ever done! I have never skied or done any winter sports, but sledding is really easy to pick up quickly. I rented a sled and helmet from Intersport (which is right at the base of the lift). The ticket was 32 euros for a day ticket (including the lift up), and we did 4 runs at about 40 minutes each, so it was great value! There is a restaurant at the top and halfway down, where you can stop and eat - the gulaschsuppe halfway down was only 6 euros and was really filling and delicious. My legs got pretty battered and wet, even through ski trousers, so definitely wear a couple of layers, and good waterproof & solid boots. I'd recommend sledding here to anyone!
