Brazil's former capital is renowned for its African-influenced cuisine, music and architecture. Known as "the Capital of Joy," because of its exuberant week-long Carnaval celebrations, Salvador brims with contemporary music and art amid architecture that has gone untouched since the 17th century.

a trip to Ilha dos Frades is an amazing option for a day off. tours from R$ 50 will take you all day long to amazing beaches close to Salvador. the boat has live music and board service, with fruits included for free in the price and they sell lots of cocktails and beers. don’t miss out the roskas with seasonal fruits, they’re delicious and costs R$ 15. make sure you’ll enjoy a lot this trip!

This is a wow overwhelming experience. Thousands of people. Felt like millions. Dancing, singing, drinking... we were at a cammarote which made it safer... but even walking out afterward was a bit scary. There were tons of police- military and civil on the streets. A horrible smell of urine- the drunk men just pee anywhere... hot&humid... it's not an event for every one. It is special, it is great music and dance, the cammarote gives a good space to be in.

While Rio’s carnival is world famous for its samba school parades, Salvador in Bahia, northeastern Brazil, is arguably home to the country’s best ‘carnival of the people.’ All of the action is in the street here, where you can choose to follow performers on ‘trio electricos’ (huge floats mounted with loud speakers) around three different circuits; pay to be part of their ‘bloco’ (special VIP area) and get even closer to the music; or stay put at one of the numerous ‘camarotes’ (pop-up venues) set-up around the circuits, and enjoy perks like all-inclusive drinks and top DJs. Whatever your budget, you'll find the perfect place to party here, as you rub shoulders with up to one million fellow revellers, here to enjoy the distinct Bahian rhythms, and non-stop ‘festa’ atmosphere!
