Whitstable is very fortunate to have its own theatre, The Playhouse, which is owned and managed by The Lindley Players Limited.
A great little theatre with friendly staff and brilliant facilities... all run by volunteers. They're now branching out into tribute shows and 'one-offs' as well as local amateur dramatics so are assured of a fine future. Seats all have a good view of the stage (although the front seats in the middle of the balcony have very little legroom so choose elsewhere if you have dodgy knees!). Last time I went was to see "See how they run" , a wonderful farce that they did with fine form. Parking in Whitstable is, to say the least, at a bit of a premium, but there is a car park situated just behind the theatre which seems to always have spaces [It's one where your number plate is read on entry so you may wish to set up an account before your visit with Canterbury City council parking to save looking for change in the dark and cold when you leave the show.]

Friendly Church of England Church open for visits on Saturday mornings from 10am to 11.30am. Also popular for weddings, christenings and with large community hall.

I have recently visited and feel very safe and welcome. The safety precautions are the best I have seen with each table divided with make shift walls and each of the staff wearing face masks. The selected beer and spirits are exciting and new, perfect for a micro pub. Highly recommend as a local!!

One of Whitstable's little gems. A small shop with a fabulous range of lavender based goodies. Very helpful owners who will post your gifts direct for you via an easy to use online ordering. But worth a visit just for the lovely smell of lavender

Half Croatian Cafe-Bar
I'm from Canterbury and each time I visit Whitstable this is my absolute 'go-to' bar/ cafe. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, there is a great range of drinks including Croatian wines and beers alongside locally produced cider and a range of other options. It has a really lovely atmosphere, well worth a visit for drinks and nibbles with friends, as a couple or to sit and while away the hours with a book.

Very enjoyable exhibitions by local artists in a community space. Great cafe Revival has a lift so if you have difficulties with stairs you can get to the cafe, nice views from the cafe balcony.

Gorgeous, smart little museum going back off the high street - it’s bigger than it looks. The Staff were so welcoming and engaging with our children. This is a good place to visit fir adults or kids of all ages. Small, quaint and beautifully presented local treasures.

Sadly Lazer Rush has permanently closed down due to Covid-19. We would like to thank all guests and players who have visited over the past 16 years we have operated.
My son had a party at laser rush today - stayed from 1-5. They all had a great time - very tired but enjoyed every minute. Food very reasonable and nice. Staff were brilliant and very welcoming. Thanks for a great party
