At the northern reaches of the Mississippi, Tunica is one of the South’s leading entertainment destinations. Just 20 minutes from Memphis, it’s home to nine casino resorts and three championship-level golf courses, as well as Tunica RiverPark, the Tunica Queen Riverboat and the soon-to-open Gateway to the Blues Museum. Tunica is a popular starting point for the Mississippi Blues Trail, a scenic highway that winds through Mississippi and takes you to historic blues markers and landmarks.

This was a planned stop for Us as we were traveling the Blues Highway and we were not disappointed. The staff could not have been any more helpful and friendly. Providing information on the museum, the local area and where we could locate more information on Route 61. The museum is housed in an 1895 old railroad depot, the museum is fronted by a visitor’s center and small gift shop. There is a fee $10/adults & $5/children. There are several interpretive and informative videos to watch as you walk throughout the museum. There are also several displays where you can try your hand at some of the instruments. There is lot's of information about the men and women who birthed the blues. The influence the blues had on many of rocks early bands such as the Beatles, Eric Clapton and the Rolling Stones to name a few is provided as well. You can even create your own blues song if the urge hit's you during your visit. There is also a large display of guitars as well as harmonica's and other instruments used by famous (and not-so-famous) musicians. Check with the Museum regarding hours during the current pandemic. They advertise that they are open daily, but best to check.

Odds are you'll find a game to your liking in this large casino complex, which features more than 1,400 reel and video slot machines, 40 tables games and a ten-table poker room.
This was the nicest casino we visited in Tunica. Large selection of games in many denominations. Well maintained and up to date. Will be our go to on future visits. Sweet tea restaurant could use some help correcting some deficiencies, but overall it was a good stop along the journey. Will be back.

Rewards for signing up are $10 of free play. I think there was a $5 coupon in the visitor’s center coupon book. Only one coupon per person, so get two books if you are a couple. I wish coupons could have been printed online. I checked both the casino's website and tunica visitor center's pages and got nothing. Shame to have to waste gas to visit the visitor's center and then waste magazines for a simple coupon for each person.
