The name De Wetshof has been synonymous with the production of fine wines in South Africa since the 1970's. As the first registered wine estate in the Robertson Wine Valley, De Wetshof has become known internationally as South Africa's eminent Chardonnay House due to the pioneering role it played in introducing this noble Burgundian grape to the country.
Having a somm guide your tasting is rare experience these days - Heinrich was an incredible host for that and his charming character. The Site chardonnay, 2016 Pinot noir and the Bateleur are deliciously expressive wines. Must visit in Robertson

Definitely not to be missed. The Graham Beck tasting was an awesome experience thanks to Jessie who guided us through the tasting with lots of warmth and friendliness. But what makes this experience particularly special is the amazing setting with the most beautiful tranquility pond featuring incredible sculptures. Just stepping out of your vehicle at the parking area and you can feel the peace and tranquility envelop you.

Surrounded by the magnificent western mountains, and overlooking the Breede River; Esona is a husband-and-wife owned wine boutique estate. The grapes are hand-picked and exclusively hand-crafted to articulate a distinctive expression of the single vineyards. Esona, The very One.
ESONA BOUTIQUE WINE ESTATE - ROBERTSON. What an absolutely awesome experience. You have to try the “Taste the Difference” premium tasting experience. Conducted in the old cement fermentation tanks called “The Kuip”. The multi-sensorial tasting combines excellent wines served in Riedel stemware paired with confectionery, music and art. A truly memorable experience and one that confirms why using the correct glass for each cultivar/varietal is so important. Thank you Hirchill you were an excellent host! #winetasting #robertson #roberstonwineroute #robertsontourism #winevalleysafari #fermentationtanks #sensorialexperience #riedelglass #cometocapetown #visitsouthafrica #westerncape #gallivantwithg

After staying a few days at nearby accommodation, we dropped in on the advice of our host. It was not a full tasting but the Pepper Tree shiraz is the best of its style I have found in the Cape. Our helpful lady also allowed us to try both Gewurztraminers - the dry version of which hit the mark. The tasting room is excellent with clear notes, Platters awards and we were assisted to the car with our trove. A true gem among the forest of valley vineyards.

Springfield Estate is a family owned wine estate situated in the Western Cape of Southern Africa. The Bruwers are descended from the French Hugenots and have been farming this land for five generations. At Springfield Estate, we are passionate about our craft. We believe that our name is our most precious possession, and our motto, Made On Honour, applies to every facet of our being. Our wine at Springfield Estate is made from single vineyards, mostly using natural yeast. This allows the character and the individuality of the grape to truly show itself. Due to our natural yeast fermentation, we strive to work as naturally as possible, both in the vineyard and the cellar.
This is one of Robertson's best-kept secrets. Beautiful venue and relaxing atmosphere. The ladies are charming and a great source of information about the wine and the area. The wine is delicious and the complimentary olives are the best we ever had. A must visit.

Rietvallei Wine Estate counts among South Africa’s oldest family-owned wine estates and was one of the first wine farms established in the picturesque Robertson Wine Valley some 160km north east of Cape Town.In 2014 Rietvallei reached a major milestone by becoming one of only a handful of South African wine estates to celebrate 150 years of ownership under one family.
This was our first visit and we all agreed it would not be our last. We were warmly greeted by our host Cara who showed us to a lovely outside table where she bought us a welcome glass of bubbly. We ordered a cheese platter to accompany our tasting and were thoroughly impressed with both the presentation and the quality of the food. Cara was very friendly and helpful and played excellent chilled music in the background which made the experience quite relaxing and suited the ambiance of the courtyard. We enjoyed tasting their different wines with each of us ordering bottles of our particular favorites to take back home. We all agreed that this was one of the most memorable experiences we have had on our many wine tasting holidays.
