18 hectares estate few kms from Alghero. Guided tour of the vineyard and olive groves with the producer, professional Sommelier and olive oil tester (with min. 12 partakers). Guided tastings at 5 pm. Tours and tastings have to be booked in advance contacting the property. Children under the age of 16 are not allowed. When a tour is planned the tastings are not possible.
We were only here for wine tasting so the review is not on the hotel and food. We came by this place for an organised wine tasting that lasted about 1 hour. Call in advance to reserve and check the times for the tasting. For 17 eur we got to tase 4 wines, cheese and charcuterie and olive oil. The woman gave a very good explanation of the vineyard, how they work, the region and the wines. A very nice tasting and some of the wines I likes the most in the region. This place is a small producer which makes the experince very nice. Very good value for money on their wines and olive oil. Only complaint is that they could not ship bottles abroad so I could not buy as much as I wanted... recommended!

Every wine-enthusiast should visit Cantina Ligios! A very warm, welcoming, and generous family will guide you through their vineyard and show every step in the process of producing their wine selection. Afterward, two sliding doors will be opened and you are met with a cozy fireplace-setting and the table set for an evening filled with wine, locally-made food, and conversations. Truly best value-for-money experienced on Sardinia!

The Papinello estate and winery are the result of three generations of Parpinello family passion for the vineyard and wine. From the start, the mission was to apply professional experience in order to enhance the quality of the grapes and thus produce wines with unique characteristics, using the most modern wine-making techniques. This rare business philosophy has produced a quality -oriented product, which fully respects its Sardinian origins. The company cultivate about 25 hectares of vines. The cellar is located in the locality named Janna de Mare and is surrounded by olive groves and vineyards that stretch out on a terrain of calcareous marne, conglomerate and sandstone, the perfect combination to ensure excellent quality wines.
Beautiful scenery with authentic Sardinia wines and olive oil. Clean and comfortable surroundings and tasting area. Guiliana B., our gracious host with her easy going manner and fine Italian accented English was both educational and inspirational. Started with sparkling Torbato, Vermentino white, then reds Monica, Cannonau Reserva, and Cagnulari. Sad to leave but left with six bottles of wine and lifetime of memories. Thank you!

Like many old churches in ancient towns it is plain on the outside and inside the architecture is very striking and here there is an unusual ornate marble altar. The stone walls and archways have a lofty simplicity which creates a tranquil ambience that befits its history. The church complex includes a convent and cloister that was originally built in the 1300’s and was restored in the 14th century. The church unfortunately collapsed in 1593 and was rebuilt in 1598. It has a beautiful vault in the presbytery with magnificent Baroque altars which are similar to those in Saint Anthony of Padua. The two-tiered cloister is the oldest part of the complex and is located in the heart of the main shopping district on Via Carlo Alberto which makes an ideal venue for the concerts which are held here in the summer months. The cloister leads to a small chapel at the base of the tower where there are some beautiful murals inside the portico. There are many really beautiful paintings and statues, especially the wooden statue of Christ at the Column which is particularly moving. A striking stained glass window over a stone well is brightly coloured and looks to be of a modern design, also look out for the huge bell just inside the door. I think this is one of the more atmospheric churches in Sardinia.
