This is a must do when in Kampen, Great display on the history of the town, has temporary exhibits and then you also visit the attached original medieval house. The museum is really well done and takes about an hour so a perfect change of pace when shopping and eating in Kampen. Highly recommend

Start your visit to Giethoorn in Museum Giethoorn 't Olde Maat Uus! The museum is located in an original historical farmhouse. It is the only place in Giethoorn where you can see how people lived more than 100 years ago and how they earned a meagre living by cutting peat and building small boats (‘punters’).
Nice small museum which gives you all the information about the past of the area. Amazing to know that the landscape as it is today was man-made. All the canals were dug out by workers who cut turf which was used as fuel for fire, for heating and cooking. The museum tells you all about how it came about, how the people used to live and what life was like hundreds of years ago. Very educational and interesting. Nice for the whole family. A visit will take you 1-2 hours.

This Dominican convent is a place to marvel and contemplate. This neogotic complex is openend in 1901 and consists of a church and monastery. There are Catholic celebrations each weekend and also a lot of spirtual and philosophical activities during the week. This church is daily opend for visitors (tuesday-saturday 13.30-16.30). Special features of the church are the stained glass windows almost all made by a dominican brother. You can see the inspiration of the worldfamous stained glass windows in Chatres in one of the windows. The beautiful mosaic floor in the choir of the church celebrates the creation of the world with the four elements of the earth and the constellations. It's located just outside the citycanals in the district Assendorp at the beginning of the Assendorperstraat. A street with nice shops as well. It's a 10 min walk from the station Zwolle or citycenter and a nice way to see more of Zwolle than only the tourist highlights.

History of Games en Computers, Arcade and Pinball all to see and to Play. All-in concept entrance, for museum, acrade, exehibition and events. 3000 m2, parking is free.
Wow, they have some cool stuff here! Many old computers and of course game consoles, more than we expected. In most cases you can play on the consoles, from old Atari's to the current gen. All that's missing here is some more explanation or history: info is sparse and often illegibly written by hand on post its. A pity, because it's clear that the staff loves the place and that they have some unique items on display: a more professional exhibit would do that justice. There is also a nice arcade hall where you can spend a few fun hours.
