The deep blue waters of the Cote d’Azur are the dramatic backdrop for elegant Nice. Breathe in the fresh Mediterranean air as you stroll the waterfront promenade, or get an eagle eye of the whole city from atop Castle Hill. The pedestrians-only Place Rossetti is the heart of the city, with a grand fountain, vibrant buildings, and the beautiful Sainte-Réparate cathedral giving it a provincial French feel.

I thoroughly enjoyed this little wine tasting tour hosted by Fabio. For €15 per person I cannot fault the quality and value for money in this wonderful experience (which went on to continue at Chateau de Cremet) Fabio was a great host with very good English. We sampled two delicious rose wines, whilst Fabio explained the relevance of AOP wines in Nice. He also explained the difference of how the wines are made and from what grapes. We got to see the machines and overlooked the vineyards, where we were able to take some pictures. Of course most enjoyable was the actual wine tasting and on top of the delicious rose’s we sampled a lovely white wine and warming red wine too. Because of the change in company Fabio arranged for us to visit Chateau de Cremet nearby, where Kathleen hosted us free of charge, and where I got to sample more delicious wines (I have left another review as I was very impressed) The location of both of these places are beautiful and really easy to get to if you are staying in Nice and have a car. It was one of my favourite days of the holiday and I would totally recommend this tour with the lovely hospitality of both Fabio and Kathleen. Thank you!

This Russian cathedral was built in the early 20th century in honor of the son of Aleksandr II tsarevich Nicolai, who died in Nice after failing to recover from tuberculosis.
Not withstanding the religious aspect of the building. It is a wonderful example of Russian Orthodox Church Architecture and a gem to visit . It is located in the centre of Nice and is easily located. I would strongly recommend you put it on your itinerary.

This museum has a large collection of works by Marc Chagall, the famous Russian-born painter and designer.
Lucky artist to have a custom made house for his works - and even already during his lifetime! Especially with the wonderful Biblical Message cycle in mind! The Biblical Message was what I enjoyed viewing the most and it made me thinking of not so lucky Alfons Mucha, who had painted beautiful poetic monumental cycle Slav Epic and his paintings are "homeless" so far. I like the way the Biblical Message is presented in this museum. I extremely enjoyed viewing the documentary about Marc Chagall, not only because the documentary was well done, but was screened in a "theatre" room with comfortable chairs, with stained glass windows by Marc Chagall himself and there even was a harpsichord decorated by him there. In other rooms there were also his other paintings, sculptures, drawings and ceramics to be seen. Also an interesting mosaic in the yard to be admired through a glass wall. I highly recommend seeing this museum.

The cathedral of Nice is well worth a visit! Open Monday 2-6 and Tuesday-Sunday between 9-12 and 2-6. Entry is free and donations are welcomed. Free tours in English and Spanish are currently available from volunteers from ARC until September 1st, when the basilica will be open during lunchtime. Catholic mass is on Saturday's at 6:30pm in French. Mass is also on Sunday's at 10am in French and 12pm in Latin. Inside the basilica there are 10 chapels with small labels in English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Japanese, Chinese and Russian. The cathedral sells a guide of the basilica in English, French and Italian for €1 in their shop. There is amazing Baroque art and architecture in the beautifully restored basilica. It is exquisitely embellished with gold and rich colours, characteristic of the Baroque style. Next to the basilica there is an 18th century campanile. The basilica is surrounded by cafes, restaurants and ice cream shops! A lovely area not to be missed!

This was my favourite place in Nice; very unexpectedly. Modern marble building "floating" on a lake, representing a cygnet (young swan). Looks odd from the outside but feels great from the inside, perfect for art. Well lit, with good descriptions in French and English. Free entry to small but very high quality museum of asian arts. Special room for Japanese tea ceremony. Small cafe. Excellent small gift shop with lovely cards and gifts. Museum features sculpture and paintings from India, Japan, China, South-East Asia, and on the top floor a temporary exhibition (til 24 June 2018) of Mongolian art including many beautiful brush and watercolour horse activities (hunting with eagles, hunting with a leopard, musicians, princes and princesses on horseback). They were so lively and so good I looked at them all individually and I'm not even interested in horses. To get there, take the local bus along the Promenade des Anglais towards the Airport and get off at Parc Phoenix. The entrance is round the back, next to the Park Phoenix entrance, very close to the Novotel and Ibis Suites. Highly recommended if you like modern architecture and/or art.

It was open when I happened to walk by the street where the church is located, so I entered. Though the building is high, the interior is rather small; the charming interior called my attention right away. It looked like a medieval atmosphere, but actually the church was built in the 17th century. Art is everywhere represented by frescoes on the walls and ceilings, paintings and religious work. A mass was being celebrated at that moment, so I kept my distance not to interrupt it.
