Bella Wines

BC's only winery dedicated to sparkling wine. We are open by appointment on Thursdays and Fridays and 12-5pm on Saturday and Sunday, until we sell out for the year.

Reviewed By CalgaryFun_and_sun - Calgary, Canada

The owners here are awesome and makes for a fun tasting as you get a good sense of humor and welcoming atmosphere. Bella is a little tucked a way but worth the winding drive up. Getting to pick your own style of glass to taste your bubbles in is a fun twist. As you can tell by the attached picture my wife and I couldn't have picked glasses any more different from each other :)

MOCOJO Winery

MOCOJO Winery is a family vineyard and winery offering wine tastings and sales with a stunning view of the Okanagan Valley. Open daily 12 - 5 May 1st to October 31st.

Reviewed By Cannuckk - Langley, Canada

Our visit to MOCOJO was a bit of a happy accident; we had spent two hours hiking the Kettle Valley Trail from Penticton and we’re heading down from the trail towards the main road, to meet with our friends and visit one or two wineries. On the way down we saw MOCOJO was open for tastings, and went in to see if their tasting setup could accommodate our dog, who was along for the drive. We met Diane, one of the owners who warmly welcomed us (and dog) to the outdoor tasting area. We were fortunate that there were only a couple other guests while we were there, and while we waited for our friends to join us, Diane had the time to engage us in a nice chat about wine and all things related. Of course it’s always a more special experience when you have the opportunity to visit with a winery owner, their passion and knowledge always shines through, and Diane was no exception. We had an opportunity to sample 5 wines, for a modest $5 tasting fee, waived with the purchase of a bottle. I like that philosophy of wine tasting; I don’t like to feel obligated to buy in case I am genuinely not taken by the particular wines on offer. That was not a problem in this case, there was universal agreement amongst the three of us tasting that all five wines were worthy of purchase. Our budget allowed for the purchase of two, a merlot and a gewurztraminer that were unique in that the grapes were harvested in 2018, a notable forest fire season in the region. Whether the smoke in the air that year gave our chosen wines the special taste we enjoyed enough to want to purchase, I’m not sure, but enjoy them we did. MOCOJO is definitely worth as visit, and combining that visit with a hike on the very scenic Kettle Valley trail is certainly an option we would recommend.

Elephant Island Orchard Wines

Elephant Island began as a family haven, a place of summer picnics, orchard adventures and magical holidays on the Naramata Bench. Today the elephant has grown into a 6,000 case winery driven to craft wines of character. Wines that sing with the unconventional voice of vanguard fruit. Wines that are balanced by a reverence for traditional winemaking practices. Wines that are rooted and inspired by family history.

This was the last winery of the day & the best one out of all the other ones we had visited that day. It’s so quaint & inviting, the patio is so cute. Our server was excellent & very knowledgeable. We had the fruit wine flight & we all left with a bottle of the crab apple wine. The service was excellent

Lake Breeze Winery

Naramata Bench Winery and Patio Restaurant

Reviewed By vbrother - Abbotsford, Canada

We have always enjoyed Lake Breeze wines. During our trip to the Okanagan we tried making a reservation for wine tasting but they were fully booked. We decided to see if we could just walk up and ask for a wine tasting. The hostess checked and we were told that if we could wait 15 minutes they could accommodate us. The service was superb. I can’t remember the name of our server – sorry. It might have been Catherine. She was effervescent, had a great personality but at the same time was very knowledgeable. Of all the wineries that we toured Lake Breeze is one of the best at dealing with the pandemic. When we were shown our wine barrel outside for our wine tasting the wine had already been poured, there was a sheet on the table with a description of the wines available for tasting and on the other side of the sheet was a price list and order form for ordering the wines. Our server stood back from our table but she spoke loudly and clearly and provided great information. I hope I got her name correct. She is terrific. At the end of the tasting I mentioned 1 of their wines that I really liked but it wasn’t of the tasting menu. She promptly said she thought there might be a bottle available at the bar and she offered to give me a sample if it was available. Shortly after she returned with the bottle and poured me a sample. We’ve always enjoyed Lake Breeze wines and find their prices to be very reasonable for the quality of their wines. Our wine tasting experience was one of the best of the trip. Thank you Lake Breeze

For over 20 years, we have made Lang Vineyards a must stop. The staff have always made us feel welcome. The pleasure of sipping wine while overlooking Okanagan Lake is blessing. The winery also showcases the artwork of local artists They are old school as their general tastings are free. They are known for having a Maple Wine which is a blend of chardonnay and Canadian maple syrup. Their Marechal Foch is winning awards. We always seem to get a couple bottles of the riesling icewine

Nichol Winery and Vineyard

Reviewed By I9704VAdonnas

We visited several wineries and Nichol was by far the most interactive. It was more than a study of taste notes. We learned about the wine making process, grape agriculture, invasive disease, and origins. This was important to us as much as the taste experience. We appreciate farmers and their efforts. A note to any other vineyards (wonderful all of you) reading this and please enrich your customers. By far Nichol was the most down to earth attentive experience. I thank you while sipping a superb glass of "Nate's Vineyard" Syrah. I commend Nichol and their dedicated employees. As well, we appreciated a seat at the picnic table to savour wine, local cheese and other deliciousness. Very grateful.

I happened upon this place 2 years ago while on a spouses excursion (husband was at a conference). I make sure to go back every time we are in Penticton. This time we were able to get our favourite - Manitou, along with a berry vodka and a whiskey. Super great quality - no mix needed! If you feel the need to mix then purchase a budget liquor - this product shouldn’t be hidden in pop. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. See you in June!

Deep Roots was a 5 minute walk from our Accommodation. We left our visit until late afternoon so we could walk home rather than drive. The family run winery has a beautiful upstairs tasting area with a stunning view over the vineyard to the lake beyond. Worth climbing the stairs for. After doing a tasting and purchasing some wines we asked the owner if he would mind us walking down through the vines to look out over the cliff to the lake beyond. He was happy for us to do this. A beautiful winery in an equally beautiful setting. Recommended

Van Westen Vineyards

Reviewed By MissingCubaAlready - Vancouver, Canada

The nearby distillery pointed us in the direction of Van Westen, noting they have the best reds on the bench. So glad we went to find out! The whole tasting experience was friendly and fun, and much more informal than other wineries, which was a nice change. Their selection of wines were all delicious and the reds really were divine! The tasting room is more of a large warehouse area so it is a bit chilly (take a sweater!). And there was an adorable dog just chilling on the couch. Highly recommend stopping here!!
