Travelling through Switzerland to N Italy, we had a stop in Lugano. In Ticino, the city of Lugano surprised us with very nive museum exhibiting Expressionist art. Gabriele and Anna Braglia collected a series of expressionist paintings (Nolde, Kandinsky, Marc, Werefkin, and others) and we found joy in visiting 2018 Autumn exhibition of Braglia collection in collaboration with Henning collection. Very well composed, in high quality space. Take a look at the stairs, also.

Walking along the beautiful lakeside, we decided to cross the road and visit this small church. Upon entering, we were quite surprised to see a beautiful fresco depicting the 'Passion and Crucifixion of Christ' covering the whole wall of the nave. As it turns out, this Renaissance fresco defined by its expressiveness and vividness is Switzerland's most famous.

When I pass through Lugano centre on via Nassa I always stop at this shop. It has all the times of the year nice ideas of the season (for halloween, for christmas, for easter). They make something special all the time. The quality and taste of their chocolate is amazing. The best of the best for all the different preferences (from very sweet with caramel and various fillings up to dark). Personally i like pralines and mousses. It is a bit pricy, but worth it. I reccomend it to everyone!

LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura is a new cultural centre dedicated to the visual arts, music and the performing arts, one of Switzerland’s most important cultural institutions, with the aim of promoting a wide range of art and establishing Lugano as a cultural crossroads between northern and southern Europe. The LAC is the pulsating heart of a cultural network that it extends over the city boundaries - involving museums, orchestras, artists, cultural associations, libraries, educational institutions, art galleries, and collectors - which aims to build upon a common project.
In this recently opened Arts Centre you can see some very interesting exhibitions including art from private collections, the intimate side of big names such as Picasso and Giacometti and original work form artists like William Wegman and all with no crowds. On Sunday mornings you can sometimes enjoy to a free classical music concert given by students of the Lugano Conservatory in the main hall.
