LEGO® House, also called ”Home of the Brick”, is a 12,000 square meter experience house for the whole family – adults, children at heart, and actual children. Only your imagination sets the limit as you explore the six Experience Zones filled with 25 Mio. LEGO bricks. Start your trip at the Tree of Creativity – one of the world’s largest LEGO builds. Step into the Masterpiece Gallery and see some of the world’s most amazing LEGO masterpieces, built by the most passionate LEGO fans. Continue your trip into the Experience Zones. Here you can, among other things, program robots in Robo Lab, produce your own stop motion video in Story Lab, or build a LEGO fish that subsequently come to life in a digital aquarium. Furthermore, there are playful dining areas, a LEGO store, conference facilities, and nine public playgrounds on the roof terraces. End your experience in History Collection, where you can explore the archives and dig up the most iconic LEGO sets.
The Lego House is an absolute must for visitors to Billund- it is a triumph and celebration of the core values of Lego- play, creativity and imagination. It balances state of the art technology with the simplicity of the basic brick and creates a multitude of play stations for children and adults to get thoroughly absorbed in making and creating. The house itself is uncompromising in its quality and design, with wonderful outside play areas on every level and a huge Lego brick on the roof. Lots of photo opportunities and interactive elements throughout. From the moment you walk in and a big screen scans your hand and asks which Lego character you are, the fun begins! An absolute MUST is lunch in the restaurant which is ordered by creating a menu sequence of Lego pieces then delivered to your hands in a big Lego brick by robot. The whole experience is delightful- sadly the robots had a minor malfunction when it came to our turn but the meal was delicious and it didn’t spoil the excitement... Super staff, friendly and knowledgeable and clearly committed to the Lego ethos and values. We liked the fact that once you pay to get in, apart from the allure of the shop, the attraction does not try to exploit opportunities to pay extra money for gimmicks throughout each stage. Everything from the brilliant stop motion film studio to the Robo lab is included in the entrance price- very reasonable for what you get to explore and enjoy (and for us an entire 8 hours of play!) and can be upgraded for only 200 DKK for a year pass which seemed brilliant value if you could visit a number of times- there would certainly be plenty to keep you entertained on return visits... The History of Lego display in the basement is informative and full of examples of Lego kits through the years which show the evolution of the famous toy. Don’t miss the chance to create a unique card with your Lego ‘DNA’ made with a combination of 6 red bricks. Try not to lose it like we did, and you’ll have a really great day. Lego house- well done- this was a real highlight of our trip and we would recommend it for all ages- a triumph of design, awe and wonder!

An amazing collection with plenty of information and friendly helpful curators. Even if you have no particular interest in bears the history is fascinating. Lovely little cafe on site too.

Welcome to ARoS Aarhus Art Museum - one of Europe's largest art museums situated in the heart of Aarhus, and the only one with a rainbow on top, Your rainbow panorama. ARoS is a house of art where our guests can be pleased, enlightened and challenged. The architecture is of international class. The same is the art. And both offer experiences of high carat: from light to thrill, from attitude to entertainment, from joy to challenge.
First time visit to AROS. Very surprised by the Popularity of this new classic Aarhus attraction. - but well deserved. The museum is big, but stretching over 10 levels there is plenty to experience. There is all kinds of art with focus on modern art - and with many different artists- and different styles we were all (including the kids) entertained, thrilled and dazzled for 4 hours. Must see’s; the installation art on the 1+2 level, FAR FOR HOME - including the famous ‘BOY’ and the extraordinary sign mark of AROS - Olafur Eliasson round rooftop circle walk. So in short - AROS is a unique experience and a ‘Must-see’ in Aarhus - also for those only moderately art interested.

Kunsten is a living art museum allowing space for immersion, wonder and fascination. The museum houses a unique collection comprising over 4000 works of art, mostly post-1900, by Danish and foreign artists. The exhibition area consists of five galleries providing visitors with ample opportunity to experience the permanent collection as well as a number of special exhibitions. Kunsten also hosts a variety of events including lectures, film screenings, concerts, family workshops, guided tours, and other activities suitable for all age groups. The museum building, completed in 1972, is an attraction in its own right. Designed by the world-famous Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, assisted by Elissa Aalto and Jean-Jacques Baruel, it is the only museum building outside Finland designed by Aalto. The museum is built of striking white marble, a style that is continued inside with stunning marble flooring and copper lamps, also designed by Aalto.
I used to live in Aalborg in the dawn of time but I never got around to visit Kunsten. Now on a short holiday trip I did go there and actually wish I had been there before. The building by Aalto is a study in it self with many very nice details and the exhibition is really nice. The museum aims to put the art in context and to promote discussion e.g. by indicating "conversation zones" where you can discuss with you fellow art people. Nice cafe and sculpture park where there is also room for children.

The wooden frigate ‘Jylland’ is one of the longest and most significant historic wooden ships in the world. Built in 1857-1860, it was both the first and last warship in the Danish navy with an originally inbuilt steam driven engine and sails – a cutting edge hybrid of its time, superior in speed with its long and slender hull. It survived 18 hits during the battle of Heligoland 1864 and worked as a royal ship, sailing King Christian IX to the Faroe Islands, Iceland and Saint Petersburg in 1874 and 1876. Since then, the old warship has functioned as lodging for soldiers and children of the rural districts of Denmark, as exhibition facilities of the National Exhibition of 1909 and others. Many times, it has faced the destruction of slow decay and being sold for scraps. Thanks to ardent people, skilled craftsmen and generous foundations, the proud ship survived and now resides in its dry dock in Ebeltoft. WELCOME ABOARD!
A really great experience, but there was not enough information about the daily working of this wonderful vessel of war.One example was the artillery-deck crew's individual function when manning the piece The children wanted to know how they loaded and who fired the canon. We could find no information on this subject. The level of technical information needs radicle improvement.Otherwise a great and adventurous-day of the kids that included rope making and sextant reading. The very fragrance of the shipyard and its functions were enjoyed by all.Thank Jyiiand.

Art museum in Skagen founded in 1908, and exhibiting an extensive collection of works by famous members of the colony of Skagen Painters who lived and worked in the area in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Names include P. S. Krøyer, Anna Ancher, Michael Ancher, Laurits Tuxen, Viggo Johansen, Marie Krøyer and Holger Drachmann.
We visited the Skagens Museum during a Viking cruise excursion and learned so much about the artists and history of the area while listening to the guide describe the beautiful works of art. Summer evening on Skagen Sanderstrand, 1893, was my favorite painting.
