Haleʻiwa is a North Shore community and census-designated place (CDP) in the Waialua District of the island of Oʻahu, City and County of Honolulu. Haleʻiwa is located on Waialua Bay, the mouth of Anahulu Stream (also known as Anahulu River). A small boat harbor is located here, and the shore of the bay is surrounded by Haleʻiwa Beach Park (north side) and Haleʻiwa Aliʻi Beach Park (south side). Further west from the center of town is Kaiaka State Recreation Area on Kiaka Point beside Kaiaka Bay. As of the 2010 census, the CDP had a population of 3,970. It is the largest commercial center on the North Shore of the island. Its old plantation town character is preserved in many of the buildings, making this a popular destination for tourists and residents alike, visiting surfing and diving sites along the north shore.

My husband and I stopped by the Pakaloha Bikinis store in Haleiwa after a long day. Jackie was very helpful and attentive to my questions. She offered choices in size, color and styles without being overbearing. She was truly wonderful. I will be forever shopping at your store wether online or at the different locations!

Your time with us will be one to remember long after you leave our beautiful islands. Natural wonders, traditional cooking demonstrations, and thrilling entertainment … There’s Something for everyone when you spend an adventurous day with TOA LUAU in alluring Waimea.
If you're looking for an authentic, interactive, fun, family Luau with the BEST food, Toa is the one. Its also the best value. We received flower Leis, admission to Waimea Valley Gardens ( for the day), free easy parking, interactive lessons on weaving, pom pom making, how to open coconuts, taro bundles, food demonstrations, cultural education, three drinks each (not watered down), better than restaurant food, desserts, kava ceremony, gifts and top notch authenticate entertainment . I've been to the other larger Luaus on the island that left me feeling like just one person in a large crowd. With the Toa Luau, they only host a small number of guest , who immediately become family. I've been lucky enough to have visited the islands over 10 times, and this stands out as one of those memorable moments. Mahalo!

A family friend is stationed on Oahu and gave me the great tip of skipping the more famous shaved ice place in favor of the Aloha General Store when passing through Haleiwa. So glad he did. The shaved ice was tasty tasty tasty. The woman behind the counter was so nice and helpful with recommendations; I got it "local style" (with vanilla ice cream under the shaved ice). The owner does it right, using the right ice shaving machine and replacing the blade every couple weeks to ensure the perfect fluffy texture. I don't even remember what flavors she gave me - papaya and two others? It was delicious. Though the General Store does take credit cards, they are cash only for single shaved ice orders, so be aware of that.

We always purchase some artwork to remember our journey and we were thrilled when we found this art gallery. One of our requirements is that it is locally made. We loved the variety of artwork on display and settled on a beautiful piece of glass work made by Krista Woodward. We felt the prices were quite respectable and our piece was well packaged and shipped very quickly. Even if you don't plan on buying, you should at least give this place a visit.

I bought a concert ukulele three years ago while in Hawaii. This time, I wanted to buy a tenor one and my internet research pointed me to this store. I'm really glad I stopped by as they have an amazing choice of ukuleles. From the beginner to the expert player, they pretty much have it all. I had the pleasure to be served by Eli who quickly pointed me to 3-4 ukuleles based on my skill level and within the price range of what I wanted to pay. He had really good advice, did not put any pressure and let me take all the time I needed to pick the best one for me. The ukuleles I was considering were all between $40 - $100 dollars less than what they were selling for in Honolulu. All in all, I had a good deal on a ukulele that I love playing, and the whole shopping experience was really enjoyable. I highly recommend The Ukulele Site if you are considering buying a ukulele while on Oahu.

I was treated by a very nice lady when I walked in. The art was very cool I really liked the Artist that depicted bright colors and hippy type scenes. Asian name but cannot remember. Lots of very cool carved surf board art etc. worth stopping in.
