We're always looking for things to do in Fremont and this was a great find! The actors were great and the skits were very funny; we're still laughing over some of the lines days later. This was a great night out at a very reasonable price. We're going back and will bring a group of friends next time.

Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum

Reviewed By L9508TUstephenc - Fremont, United States

My wife and I have been going to see silent and early "talkie" films at the Niles Film Museum roughly quarterly since it was restored in 2004. The original Edison Theater opened here in 1913. It's been pointed out by some reviewers that this museum/theater is a quite modest by the standards of other museums devoted to movie history, e.g. the Hollywood Museum in Hollywood or the Museum of Western Film History in Lone Pine that are admittedly magnificent, and that would be true. Nonetheless, this is another of Fremont’s gems that is dedicated to local film history, but unfortunately it doesn't have the budget of the larger, grander film musuems. Films are shown weekly on Saturday nights and on some Sunday afternoons with live music that are always well attended by enthusiastic audiences. And there is a small museum containing memorabilila of the film era in Niles when Charlie Chaplin and Bronco Billy Anderson, the first cowboy star, where making films in Niles and the surrounding hills, including at least one that I know of that was filmed in San Francisco on the west end of Golden Gate Park. If you’re a fan of silent films or enjoy movie history, this a must see. The museum is modest but very interesting and continues to grow funded by donors. One of the most interesting parts of the theater is its original projection room that had been sealed up since the 1923 sale of the Edison Theater with its original projection equipment in place and then rediscovered during the restoration. Films are now shown using the original projectors. I highly recommend. And don't miss the projection room tour.

Old Mission San Jose

California Historical Landmark No. 334. Mission San Jose was founded on June 11, 1797 by Father Fermin Francisco de Lasuen. This was the 14th of twenty-one Spanish missions established in Alta California. A tour through Old Mission San Jose’s historic facilities includes the Mission Museum, the Church, the historic Cemetery, and the Garden. In the Museum, an 18-minute video depicts Spanish exploration and the 1797 founding of the mission as well as day-to-day living within the mission. See Ohlone Indian artifacts, religious objects from the Franciscan period, and items from the Mission and Rancho eras. The Church is a reconstruction of the 1830s mission adobe church, built with the materials and using construction methods of that time. It also contains the rare Rosales Opus 14 Spanish Organ. The cemetery holds the graves of many prominent Spanish and American settlers, and the rose garden includes a fountain and plantings representing the original mission period.

Very quiet.By yourself adventure is my favorite.I did this for a third grade project. It’s not usual.Usually it is a 4th grade project.I go to Warms Springs Elementary School.I’m in Room 50.I love this place. It is very big. It’s not small that you can only explore 1/10 of Fremont history.I love the white bag that we bought. It was worth it.I used it as a resource.I didn’t need to go online for info.It was the best resource.

Rockin' Jump - The Ultimate Trampoline Park

Reviewed By jubda - Fremont, United States

We came here on a Monday and for general jump play (not part of a party) [Lot of people come here for birthday parties on weekends, so ymmv] This is a very large trampoline place - since it was a weekday, there were hardly anyone else there. You sign an electronic waiver if its your first time and pay about $20 - which includes a sock purchase. though they say it's for an hour, since it was no-rush time, that was hardly enforced. The kids (and adults) had a lot of fun. Non-jumping adults can also come inside to supervise (which some of the other similar places in fremont dont allow). There are large areas of trampolines and plenty of room to jump around. There are also good foam pits kids (or adults) can jump into, and wade around. There is a separate dunk trampoline area and a dodge ball trampoline area. There is also a small rock climbing area which little kids will enjoy. I did notice a cafe, a few arcade games, and birthday party rooms though didn't use any of them. Overall, a great place for kids to burn their energy and had good fun!
