We had a fantastic wine tasting session with friends. Jani the winemaker was very cheerful, he showed us around the facility, told a couple of nice and funny stories about his wine-maker life :) We took six fantastic bottle of wines and an awesome extra dry champaigne. Even in november, the weather was so nice, we took out tables to the sun and enjoyed the event outside. 5 stars, recommended to everybody coming to Eger :)

In case of wine tasting appointment and registry is required! Come tour the Kovacs Nimrod Winery! Located atop of seven continuous cellars on the historic Veroszala Street in Eger, we are in the center of the Eger wine region. Come tour our historic cellars and taste our exquisite variety of wines that are produced from the Nagy Eged, Nyilasmar, Nagyfair, and other top terroirs in this Burgundian style climate. Our wines are available for purchase! Appointment and registry is required! You can visit us at the weekends too.
We pre-booked a tour of the cellar and a wine tasting and we were very impressed with the winery. Noémi was a wonderful host - knowledgable and welcoming - 100% We would 10/10 recommend to anyone visiting Eger! The wines were very unique and we enjoyed the tasting very much.

Egri Road – Beatles Museum is located in the heart of the historic town of Eger. Guests can get a glimpse of the life and career of the band by up-to-date technical solutions. Newsreels are played and the songs of the band can be listened to, whereas contemporary publications, garments and rarities are displayed. Games and photo-taking activities take the visitors back to the legendary sixties.
Even if this museum was in London or Liverpool it would be impressive. The owner, 50 something, began his collection at age 9. There is a very well-done 12 minute documentary before you begin your self-guided tour. We took our two children (3 and 6) and they loved it. You can play guitar, listen to music, watch videos and just gaze at all the cool Beatles stuff.

Just popped in to buy a bottle I knew from the night before. The guy in the bar was so friendly and showed a couple of wines just for fun, without even having to pay. Told us a lot about the vinery and gave us a great experience.

This is the second biggest Basilica in Hungary and it's incredibly wonderful. It's a known landmark in Eger, in the center, so anyone can visit places where this building shines during the day. Inside it's very detailed, big decorations and a huge space present how rich the catholic church was and this place has a great history. We have held our wedding here a few years ago also. Nowadays it is in progress of a renovation work both internal and external so you may not visit it and / or be disappointed how it looks now, but worth to check later, maybe next year or so.

Had a superb visit to this place today. Took the combined cellars tour and Palace ticket. the visit to the caves was fascinating. Quite a grid under the city! Nice to have a wine-tasting thrown in. What made the visit extra special was the guided tour in English by David. He gave us a personal tour of the whole collection in excellent English- all because my wife asked for an audio-guide for me! Thanks for a wonderful couple of hours!
