I attended two TTC with Himalayan Bliss, one in february 2018 in Goa, one in April 2019 in Darjeeling. It's been one of the most life-changing experience I ever had. Sonam, Alisha, Tenzing, Vishnu, the whole HYB have been 100% present for the students. We've been warmly welcomed and supported the whole training. Each time someone nedded help, advises, support, they could openly talk and been listened from someone from the team. I new I was going to deepen my yoga practice, I had no idea I was going to find a family. The accommodation was really nice and comfortable, cosy rooms and nice appartments. The food was in both trainings was absolutely delicious and healthy, always prepared with love (and mantras :))! The quality of the lessons and classes were better that I could expect. We got the chance to understand better the yogi ancient tradition and philosophy. It was definitely a authentic way to approach Yoga. I am today a young yoga teacher, which has still so much to learn, but thank to HYB I can share with my students a authentic, beautiful, yogi tradition. Ella from France.

Happy Valley Tea Estate

The Happy Valley Tea Estate caresses the misty hills of Darjeeling, overlooking the fertile Himalayan foothills. Established in 1854, its history is closely entwined with the origins and cultivation of Darjeeling tea. This garden, located in the town of Darjeeling, is home to spectacularly lush fields, endowed with a natural, breath taking charm. At Happy Valley respect for nature is expressed through the organic and bio-dynamic method of farming. Happy Valley invites you to immerse yourself in the culture, history and tradition of the region by witnessing the process by which fresh tea leaves are withered, rolled, fermented, dried, sorted and graded to produce a variety of teas; the traditional black tea, green tea and the exquisite speciality teas. A guided tour of the Happy Valley tea factory offers visitors a glimpse of the fascinating process of manufacturing tea. The tea tasting session, curated for first-timers, is conducted at the end of the tour, where one can discover the legendary flavour of Happy Valley organic Darjeeling teas. Happy Valley teas are available in retail packs at the factory boutique for sale.

This 1854 estate on the northwest edge of town is a good place to learn about tea, especially when plucking and processing are in progress (March to November). An employee guides you through the aromatic factory and its withering, rolling, fermenting and drying processes, explaining how green, black and white teas all come from the same leaf, and you'll get to taste a few varieties. A free shuttle van for visitors runs from Bhanu Bhawan in town from 9.30am.
