Beautiful inside and out, with Indian angels gracing its towers, this cathedral at Plaza San Martin was started in 1577 and took almost 200 years to build.
Really nice cathedral located on the central square. This must have been the original city center when Córdoba was setup 400 years ago

I thought I forgot to take photos during the tour because I was enjoying it. The guide was very informative and the collections were very special. The guide even took us to some rooms exclusive for their tours.

Cordoba’s first Spanish governor lived and worked in this spacious colonial house, which is filled with furniture, rifles, saddles, military uniforms and other 18th-century artifacts.
With a large house and a business house, it shows the details of colonial life. objects, customs and an atmosphere that transports in time are the elements of this visit to another time.

As I understand it the Church was inaugurated in the 1930 and underwent some restoration in more recent years. The term Capuchinos I gather refers to a Type of dress but also refers back to a specific groups of the Franciscans monks, name,up the Capuchins. Albeit the Cathedral/Church is one awesome beautiful edifice both inside and out. A definite item to consider on you tour list. I was a little too early in the morning to get the right light conditions for an outside pic.

The Jesuits started Cordoba in the late 1500s. You will need a car to get to the "estancias" (ranch settlements) in the vicinity of the city of Cordoba, which are UNESCO world heritage sites. In the city itself, the Jesuit church, in the historic district, is the gem. The altar is spectacular, an example of Spanish baroque style 16th-17th century.

We have had only one day to visit Córdoba and we decided to go only to this place. It is quite outside from Córdoba centre and you definitely need a taxi or rental car to get there. When you enter the site you have the feeling: what an normal place which makes it even more gruesome to know what has happend in the recent past. The whole team (partly from the university of Córdoba and partly volonteers) is highly motivated. They were so kind as to print out all descriptions written in English and they gave us the opportunity to discuss with them in the end our impressions. And when you than start your path from station to station, with all these personal details, photos and belongings it gives you an impression you will never forget and which is especially nowaday more than important to keep up in the mind of 1. an argentinian 2. a global society. What these people do for keeping the memory alive is priceless and needs our support.
