Available to view Mon - Thurs by appointment. Please call the gallery. At over 3,000 square feet, DM Weil Gallery may be one of the largest modern art galleries in New York's Hudson Valley. Just a short drive from the center of picturesque New Paltz, DM Weil Gallery offers the look and vibe of an exclusive Soho style exhibition space, but with the majestic Shawangunk mountains as a backdrop. The eye-popping abstract creations of acclaimed painter DM Weil -- has been praised by critics and collectors alike, the gallery's mission statement remains, "Why Can't Fine Art Be Fun?".
Do not miss DM Weil gallery if you are in the New Paltz area! Donna's art is absolutely stunning--vibrant, colorful, joyful, radiating light. Donna works on premises and it is so special to hear her talk about her wonderful art on display. Donna, Sammy, and Ken are so sweet and welcoming, as well as incredibly knowledgeable with regards to both the art and the many printing services they do in house. This was a wonderful place to spend the afternoon, not to mention I picked up the most unique hand-painted overalls!

Renovated art deco theater showing professional productions of contemporary plays & musicals.
I go to Shadowlands once a season as a guest of a season ticket holder. Every single performance I've seen there (about nine in total) has been professionally put together with talented performers. Theater-goers have revitalized Ellenville and several delicious, family-owned restaurants can be found in the vicinity of the theater, making for a special visit every time I've gone.

The building itself, authentic, maintained and staff by volunteers is worth a visit - but the collection, the collection is noteworthy as well. Mission furniture in the meeting room is easily over a hundred years old, records of service, awards, sleeping quarters intact, the pole still in place - it's as if the firefighters of 1900 just left the building to answer a call and will be back in a few minutes. One of the few intact firehouse museums anywhere.

I wish I had more money and more of an affinity for antiques! This store is a goldmine. It has two levels of treasures both affordable and pricey. I can't imagine walking out without buying something. I got a couple of old records and some shelving units. There's jewelry, comics, some clothes (not much), memorabilia, furniture and everything in between. I'm glad a set a budget for myself because I would have walked away with much more!

My best friend and I just had a wonderful time at The Den of Marbletown. It’s a fantastic Steiff teddy bear museum and cafe. They have an amazing number of Steiff teddy bears and animals, a room full of Madame Alexander dolls, a collection of Barbies, a tempting gift shop and a cafe with yummy treats. All of this is nestled in a historic farmhouse. We had a pleasant ride from Albany NY and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Interesting and fun for all ages. You’ll come away with a big smile on your face!

The best part (other than the super friendly owners) was the vodka that had been flavored by steeping various things - jalapenos, cucumber, COFFEE, etc Try everything there, it's delicious!

My Mother (71), my Grandmother (92), my Daughter (15) and I (43), wanted to Celebrate my Birthday in a fun and different way while staying local, because my Grandmother has a difficult time sitting in the car for a long time. Normally my Daughter and I are Broadway bound for special occasions so we weren't anticipating much more than some nice family time together. However, we were all SOOOO PLEASANTLY SURPRISED by the caliber of acting, choice of Plays and the extremely comfortable intimate venue that we felt equally as entertained and pleased as if we had made one of our NYC trips to an actual Broadway Show... and all for such a reasonable price and the ease of it being practically right in our own "back yard". The performance had us literally crying, laughing, holding our breath and warming our hearts as if we ourselves were in the "experience". And then, to top it off, we walked over across the parking lot and enjoyed a delicious and eloquent meal at this charming little restaurant with outdoor tables looking over the picturesque mountains. Although, it was too chilly to utilize the outdoor dining, we found the inside just as quaint yet contemporary as one of our favorite City Eateries. We were all so pleased (and surprised at the Theater's comfortable seating for my 92 year old Grandmother to enjoy the entire show without any back complaints that usually come up), that we decided to make it a monthly tradition. We all STRONGLY RECOMMEND everyone to come and experience for yourselves what we believe is now one of New Paltz's and the Hudson Valley's Local Treasures!

A beautiful and serene monastery that serves as a retreat and study center and is worth a visit.
Beautiful zen grounds, visitors are welcome to explore the monastery and gift shop. Free parking onsite. The monastery is located at the trailhead of an easy hike. We always stop here after a winter walk up the mountain. Very peaceful and educational. They have numerous events and programs.

Nestled in the lush green hills of Marlboro you will find Benmarl Winery. Overlooking the historic Hudson River Valley, it’s 37 acre estate lays claim to the oldest vineyard in America. The winery also holds New York Farm Winery license no.1.
The view at Benmarl Vineyard is just breathtaking. The services was excellent and the wines were everything you needed in a good glass of wine. I loved the experience at this Vineyard from the arrival to the end the service was top notch. The food was very delicious, the pizza is one of my favorite which is made on premises. Benmarl have some of the best pizza period. The cheese spread is another excellent choice. My favorite wine at Benmarl is the semi dry riesling this wine is so refreshing. I ended purchasing several bottles. If you are ever in the area this is a must do.

She saw the Civil War, the industrial revolution, Gilded Age, Progressive Era, and the start of World War I. Called “Queen of the Hudson” before construction was even completed, the Mary Powell, iconic symbol of “America’s Rhine.” Operated for most of her career by one enterprising family - the Andersons - Mary Powell also represented the best of Hudson River travel- the speed, elegance, safety, and attention to detail that made travel by water preferable.
The Hudson River Maritime Museum is one of those underrated museums that you come across that is packed with interesting information, interesting exhibitions and engaging displays. If you are interested in the history of the maritime exploration, the history of the canal systems and the growth of the manufacturing industry of the Hudson River Valley, this museum has all the answers and in a interactive way. The displays are very interesting and there is a lot of reading to do (not very Gen Z). They explain not just the shipping industry but the whole history from when the Indians traded with the Dutch up to the changes in the towns with modern day gentrification and the growth of 'cottage' artist communities. It is a very underrated museum that you should visit when you are at the Kingston Roundout or visiting the Kingston area.
