Named one of the top ten small art towns in the country, Brattleboro's downtown is packed with coffee shops, bookstores, and art galleries. Over the course of a year, the town hosts world class jazz concerts, film festivals, and theater companies. Since 1922, Brattleboro has also been home to the Harris Hill Ski Jump, an annual winter tradition that brings thousands of spectators to the town to watch as some of the world's best athletes tackle the death-defying 90-meter ski jump.

A 350-acre farm - the barn and country store are open to the public.
I stopped by the Robb Family Farm Country Store to purchase maple candies and syrup. Their candies were fresh and made right there. There were also many local foods and other gifts. The family is friendly. It is definitely worth a visit!

Contemporary craft gallery and open artist studios, open five days a week, just two miles north of Brattleboro, Vermont. Home of Natalie Blake Studios, featuring handcrafted ceramic tiles and vessels, and Solinglass, featuring hand-blown glass sculptures and vessels. Come see our glass blowers in action on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and tour both studios and meet the artists any day of the week. Fire Arts also offers Make-Your-Own events, workshops, and private parties in the glass and ceramic arts -- check our website for upcoming events and opportunities to celebrate the fire arts!
This was the highlight of my weekend in Brattleboro. The staff here was super friendly and gave us a tour of the glassblowing studio and the clay crafting studio. It was such an informative and enjoyable experience. Seeing the works of art displayed around the studio was also fantastic. The quality of the exhibits cannot be understated. I will absolutely be back with family to join the glassblowing classes. I can't wait!

this is a relatively small museum but the exhibits that were being shown when we visited (11SEP19) were very interesting. I think that most of them have recently been replaced by other ones although I believe that some of what we saw was part of their permanent collection. In any case, i'd recommend going there if you are in the area. Note: they do a couple special events during the year: dominos and LEGOs which would be worth a special trip if you are able.

On this trip, my wife and I were sampling their many cheeses and buying cheese gifts for our children and ourselves. We deserve these specialty foods. We call it "Cheese Therapy".

Saxtons Distillery crafts locally sourced small batch VT spirits. We create Sapling Maple Liqueur, Sapling Maple Bourbon, Sapling Maple Rye and Perc Coffee Liqueur using local products. All of our VT Maple Syrup comes from less than 10 miles from our front door and Mocha Joe's supplies our dark roasted beans for Perc Coffee Liqueur. We offer free tastings of all our spirits and sell both bottles of our spirits and unique merchandise. There will always be one of our team to assist you in all your spirit questions and needs. We have two locations. Our grand tasting room and production facility in Brattleboro is adjacent to Fulcrum Arts Center just outside beautiful downtown Brattleboro at 485 West River Road. Our Grand Tasting room is open 7 days a week, our Annex is closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
staying the area for Thanksgiving (and we followed the self quarantine and have a negative COVID test thank you very much) and stopped in to try their spirits. being a bourdon freak i tasted their maple bourbon and was won over, not overly sweet. I grabbed a 750ml bottle and then decided to try their Manhattan. excellent choice. staff was great and the place followed all of the joyous COVID rules. hopefully i come this way again when this dreaded virus has run its course and can better experience the place.
