Tiyi By Design is an exclusive Caribbean brand producing exquiste, hand crafted art jewelry. Each piece is individually designed by professional metalsmith/art jeweller, Ichia Tiyi. The artist will work in the studio for the visitor to view the process live, and they can also learn to create a small piece of jewelry for themselves.
This is my second visit to Barbados and to see Ichia as well for an amazing piece of her jewelry. She is a lovely person and her jewelry is one of a kind. My wrists are small so both times she had to make my bracelets smaller which I really appreciated. I am already looking forward to my next visit.

Heritage private tours and events.
We visited Clifton Hall Great House on Monday February the 17th. We had contacted Massimo via email a few weeks prior to our arrival on the island and he graciously offered to have us join up with a tour group that was already scheduled for that day. We arrived a bit early and Massimo generously came out to chat with us. As it turned out, the tour group was roughly a half hour late, so Massimo proceeded to take us back and show us some sculptures that a resident relative was producing in a building out back. The tour itself was highly entertaining. Massimo is openly passionate about the challenging restoration of the Great House and his pride in the process is apparent throughout the walking tour. I loved how they constructed these Plantations Houses to take advantage of the natural elements; the wind and cross breezes were used to cool these large homes and the way they captured the rain water to be used for domestic purposes. It's not often that you get the opportunity to observe the history of such remarkable buildings through the eyes of an owner as passionate as Massimo. We highly recommend this tour!

We joined mass at this jewel on the Caribbean Sea in Barbados. First thing we noticed - the large glass windows overlooking the sea. The mass itself was beautiful - uplifting songs, joined hands for ‘our Lord’s Prayer, and very meaningful sharing of the sign of peace. There were also much needed prayers for unity amongst all churches as well as a thought-provoking sermon. Thanks to the parish priest and all the parishioners for a warm welcome.

A nineteen year-old George Washington spent two months at this house, making Barbados the only foreign nation Washington ever visited.
What an amazing place, the guide is so knowledgeable and really brings the place to life, so well set out, the furnishings are beautiful, then the trip underground to the tunnels is fantastic, well worth a visit

Old-fashioned sugar refinery: archaic machinery, folk art fairs, a sculpture garden and fields of sugarcane create a unique atmosphere sure to please the most jaded tourists.
We took a group tour of the Foursquare distillery in Barbados. Great fun, tour and tasting with excellent knowledgeable guide. Would recommend for visitors to Barbados

Oldest Jewish synagogue in the Western hemisphere, dating back to 1654.
Located in the aptly named synagogue lane is the Nidhe Israel museum and synagogue that was founded in 1654, making it the oldest in the Western hemisphere. It has been restored and is open to the public and available through tours. Interesting place to come if you get bored of the beaches.

You simply must visit St Nicholas Abbey when you visit Barbados. Built in the Jacobean style during the 1600s, with most of the furniture still intact, the guided tour is expertly and professionally conducted as you step back in theme on a sugar cane and rum distillery plantation. You will not regret the short taxi drive and you will rave forever about the view from Chrysler Tree Hill. Allan and Bonnie Asselin Ontario, Canada
