Drop Dive is an SSI Training Centre & Professional Dive Centre. Our highly experienced team of multilingual Instructors conduct all their training activities to the very highest standards – above and beyond what is required by SSI. The atoll where LUX* South Ari Atoll Maldives is located is famous for its marine diversity and especially for its whale-sharks. Which divers can find here all year round. This luxurious Resort is the ideal base to dive its 50 dive sites, some of the most fabulous and famous dive sites in the world. One of the most famous must be Kuda Rah Thila, the first nationally protected site in the Maldives and Maamigili Outside as whale shark magnet. Most dive sites are from 5 minutes to less than an hour from the Resort. The boat journey makes diving trips even more enjoyable. Divers set out in dhonis, a traditional Maldivian boat, and an experience in itself. Euro-Divers Vilamendhoo is centrally located on a private jetty, a few meters away from the reef. Vilamendhoo is located directly between two channels, making the spectacular house reef very versatile and therefore ranks among the best in the Maldives for scuba diving and snorkeling. The location on the eastern reef of South Ari Atoll guarantees a good supply of fresh water for an excellent coral growth and plenty of fish. With over 50 dive sites and a fantastic house reef with 10 entry points, Vilamendhoo is the perfect diver’s paradise for beginners and experienced divers. Even the wreck ‘Kudhimaa” is only a 30 minute boat ride away and is one of the regularly visited dive sites. South of the island you find a protected Marine Area, Khudarah Thila, an exceptional place for divers and of course the national park at the outside reef. 3 times a week full day trips are offered to search for whale sharks in this area throughout the year.

Euro-Divers Velidhu has more than 30 dives sites which are between 10 minutes and 1 hour boat ride away from the island. Divers can enjoy thila diving, wall diving, channel diving and also wreck diving. The marine life is abundant with a lot of different sharks and during east monsoon (end of December – April) also mantas. Velidhu is home to some of the best dive sites in Maldives. From December to April is plankton season in this area of the Maldives and plankton feeders such as mantas rays are often to be seen by divers around the area.
