After reading all those wonderful comments about this champagne house, we decided to book a visit. And I'm so glad we did! To be honest, I don't know a lot about champagne but I couldn't leave without visiting a champagne house. This was such an amazing experience. Romain talked so passionately about how the champagne was made and explained everything so well. He's very friendly, can answer every question you have and is fluent in English. The champagne we tried after the tour was delicious, my family was also very happy when I returned home with this delicious champagne :D. There are a lot of champagne houses but if you visit this area, I highly recommend visiting Alain Mercier.

MEUNIER EXPERTISE Olivier, who is an oenologist by trade, is immersed in growing the “Meunier”, this typical and unpredictable grape variety of the Marne river Valley. They treasure their old vineyards that express so well the personality and the earthy touch of their 17 plots. They look after them with regular hoeing and a natural green cover. Vineyard zoning The harvest and the grapes pressing are mastered while respecting each kind of soil: clay, tuff, sand, and silt. The complexity of each Champagne blend shows this variety. In the cellar, the champagne batches come mainly from “Meunier”. The wine making process takes place in small stainless steel vats with temperature control and also in barrels. Signature blends Olivier produce six original batches, including “Bel Instant” (90 % Meunier), “Bleu Chic” (Meunier highlighted by Chardonnay) and “Clair Obscur” (perfect harmony between Pinot and Meunier sublimated thanks to a wine-making process in barrels).

Welcome to Henri Matisse's family house! Discover the childhood of the famous painter through the memories and pictures gathered in the museum that used to be the family's seed-shop. The antique machinery dates back to the 19th century, and all the furniture in the bedroom and the workshop belonged to the painter. After your visit, enjoy a hot or cold beverage and a typical snack in the "Cafe Couleurs", and don't forget to buy a souvenir in our shop! You can also tour the city with an audioguide, following Matisse's footsteps.

Very interesting experience of utopia. Well organized. I could allow only 2 hours. If you get into it, it is worth more. Cafeteria looks rather basic, but anyway everybody shows warm welcome.

This is an amazing gothic basilica which is awesome in its interior. Of particular interest is a labyrinth from the Middle Ages set in the floor of the west end of the nave. This was a pilgrims’ “artefact” used on arrival in the church. Go and see for yourself!
