Our Gommone skipper was Giorgio. Just lovely. He told us his honest opinion of which beaches were better (and he was so right!) and where we should swim. He even recommended one of his favorite beaches and a trek we should do during our stay (we did both, and he was right on with both! just magical places). The charming manager also followed up at the end to make sure we had a good trip. It made the quality of our trip so much better. Thank you!!

Cala dei Gabbiani, Seagulls’ beach, I think it’s the most beautiful beach of Sardinia, starting from its water colours to its beautiful underground made by high walls of rocks and enormous woods. The white pebbles give a huge light to all the beach and the atmosphere is just amazing. Its name comes from the seagulls habit to come to this beach when the sun sets, in the evening.

Cruised on the SS125 from Cala Gonone, what a thrilling ride!! We set out pretty early and really enjoyed the downhill hike to the cala...nothing will ever prepare you for the rugged, unspoilt beauty that is Goloritze....had to stop a minute to take it all in..on our visit the weather was fairly hot and the sea dramatically choppy, couldn’t swim around the way we wanted to but pretty sure we’ll do in the future but . The hike uphill is good exercise... do as they all say: pack some snacks, enough water and wear proper hiking shoes, i did wear trainers and stepping on those sharp rocks wasn’t exactly painless...

The grotto is only accessible by boat. Steep stairs from sea level. After entering the grotto and having paid your fee, you can have a guided tour or have the supplied audio equipment with prerecorded guiding. This prerecording is good and gives you many details about this magnificent grotto, just explored as late as in the sixties. You can easily get around in the grotto, since walking paths and stairs are installed. Beautiful lightening makes the experience unique.
