Encounter Authentic Handpicked & Handcrafted wines. Join us for a wine tasting and conversation in the Micro-Winery!
We were at Short Sheep again on our annual trip to Mudgee. As previously, it is an enjoyable cellar door, with interesting wines from which I always find something worth purchasing. This place is a great contrast to some of the bigger wineries of the area. The cellar door is appropriately small with a chance to take a peek into the winery. Sue and Tony are great on their ability to share what they are doing with the wines. It will be on our list again for our next visit to Mudgee.

Robert Stein Vineyard and Winery is one of Mudgee's premier wine labels, established in 1976 and now in its third generation of expertise. Robert Stein produces a wide range of award winning, single vineyard wines, made solely from our 60 acre vineyard. Third Generation, Jacob Stein is at the helm as Winemaker with the quality of the wines being well recognized, winning the 'Most Successful Exhibitor' at the Mudgee Wine Show in 2014. Robert Stein Winery is also rated Red 5 Star by James Halliday, Australias most acclaimed wine critic. Motorcycle fans will marvel at the exhibition of bike memorabilia on permanent display at the winery. The most recent addition, being the opening of Pipeclay Pumphouse restaurant overlooking the vineyard with one of the best views in Mudgee. We invite you to 'share our rewards...'

With the widest selection of honeys available you can taste trial each variety of honey before you decide on your favourites. Even the kids get to have a good time with a game of putt putt on our new 18 hole course with beeboxes painted by local primary schools. They'll also love watching the bees hard at work through a special glass window which shows a cross section of a real working bee hive. There's a wide selection of gifts, crafts and pottery and local Mudgee produce for which the region is well known. If wine tasting is more your style, sample some of our honey wines and liqueurs. And if that's not enough, why not enjoy a cuppa, coffee or light meal at the adjoining Honey Haven Cafe - the food's fresh and home baked.
