Loch Katrine

Welcome to Loch Katrine - one of Scotland's special places. Just as special as the magnificent scenery is the famous steamship "Sir Walter Scott" which itself has been a landmark in The Trossachs for over a hundred years. Your visit is not complete without a cruise on this wonderful ship, or on "Lady of the Lake", the perfect way to experience the beauty of Loch Katrine. Perhaps you'll just want to relax with a coffee or a meal in the Brenachoile Cafe Bar, shop for a souvenir and take a stroll by the shore, or bring the family for a cycle trip?

We had booked the Loch Katrine cruise with afternoon tea afterwards in the Steamship Cafe. From start to finish everyone was warm and welcoming from the lady who took our booking , to Captain Steph and Debbie on board the Lady of the Lake to the lovely lady who served us our afternoon tea. It was such a peaceful day on the loch and the scenery was just stunning with the sunshine peeping through on occasions and skimming the snow top hills. Would highly recommend this trip

Inchmahome Priory

This site is closed for now. We’re working hard to gradually reopen the places you love while making sure the experience is safe for everyone. Located on an island in the Lake of Menteith, Inchmahome Priory was founded in 1238 and much of the 13th century building remains. Inchmahome Priory is a beautifully situated monastery, founded by a small community of Augustinian canons led by Walter Comyn, the Earl of Menteith. The isolated island location gave the perfect tranquility for worship, and the priory has links with many famous historical names including Robert the Bruce, Mary Queen of Scots and Sir Walter Scott. Today you can explore the chapter house and its collection of stone memorials including a rare 13th century double effigy. The island is also home to a wide variety of plant and wildlife. Founded around 1238, the priory was home to Augustinian canons for more than 300 years.

Falls of Falloch

Reviewed By peterdK9884CV - Southampton, United Kingdom

A stunning little waterfall that is a short walk from the car park just off the main road. We stopped off on a journey up North. The only downside was the car park is small and there is nowhere to go if there are no spaces on busy Summer days, but if able to park it is a 5 minute walk to the area where you can view the falls. You can see the falls from various angles, including clambering down onto some rocks or a much more accessible walk way which goes right up to them.

Ben Lomond

Reviewed By 807martaz - Paisley, United Kingdom

Great Munro for a family hike, starting point in Rowardennan, very popular place and limited car park, so it is best to start early in the morning. Busy place. Good walking paths to access via Ptarmigan Ridge, a bit steeper climb but also less busy, not too difficult.
