Devkund Waterfall

Reviewed By Nks773

Visited devkund with family and friends on 01 Nov 19. Worth visiting. Calm and beautiful environment with only sound of the waterfall. However while visiting this place there are few things you should keep in mind. 1. Plan a two day trip, instead of 1 day if you live 100 kms or beyond from this place, reason being the roads are simply pathetic, I mean entire mulshi road ( if you are coming from Pune) is under construction. Moreover some stretches on tamhini ghat road are like moon craters and this makes your journey to take around 4-4.30 hours one side from Pune to reach bhira village parking and since the trek to and fro takes around 4 hours, it usually gets dark by the time you return, and driving on moon craters is simply not advisable at night, moreover rain and fog makes the matter worse. 2. Fill your fuel tank well in advance, as there is hardly any fuel pump in the way from mulshi road to bhira village parking. 3. Take raincoats, hats, with shoes as the forest is quite dense and rainfall is quite frequent. 4. Carry lots of water. 5. If you plan to choose to stay in devkund at night, there are camping sites nearby bhira village. Although they charge a lot ( Rs. 1200 per head for a night) you can still bargain. 6. Reach this place by your car or hired cab. Though you can go by two wheelers but then you will have to take care of the rain. 7. Do hire a guide, as the forest is dense and the last thing you will want is to get lost. They charge Rs. 100 per head and 160 for lunch ( if you want). 8. Go in a group rather than solo. All and all it was a nice adventurous trip for us and we enjoyed a lot. Special thanks to our guide Ganesh Chavan, who guided us very well through the dense forest and also arranged Changing room and lunch for us at his house.

Tamhini Ghat

Reviewed By PhilNMG - Pune, India

If you love natural water falls then this place is a must visit. The drive from Pune is quite enjoyable and during the rainy season it is just awesome. The rocks are very sharp in some places so be very careful. Please take care of your little ones and hold on to each other at every step. The sound of the water fall is so magical and powerful. Best place to enjoy with family and friends.
