Find out what Thai restaurants to try in Sagaing. Sagaing (Burmese: စစ်ကိုင်းမြို့; MLCTS: cac kuing: mrui) is the capital of Sagaing Region (formerly Sagaing Division). Located on the Irrawaddy River, 20 km to the south-west of Mandalay on the opposite bank of the river, Sagaing, with numerous Buddhist monasteries is an important religious and monastic centre. The pagodas and monasteries crowd the numerous hills along the ridge running parallel to the river. The central pagoda, Soon U Ponya Shin Pagoda, is connected by a set of covered staircases that run up the 240 m hill.

Serving you the best quality of Thai and Chinese Cuisine and Premium Steak
We had lunch here which was really good. The coconut prawn curry was amazing. However, I found it much too pricey for the amount of food you get and the restaurant looks rather cold, it lacks an ambiance in my opinion.

We wanted to try Marie Min where is located right opposite this restaurant, however we left Marie Min as we realised that it is a vegetarian food, plus the lady server was showing a glum face. This restaurant looks appealing with interesting decor and lightings, hence, we decided to give it a try. We ordered red curry chicken, papaya salad, Tomyam soup and stir fried lady finger. We are frequent traveller to Bangkok, hence we are quite picky about good Thai food. This place is not anywhere close to a mediocre Thai food that we came across as the food were totally not sour and spicy enough to our liking. I would say that the food is edible, but doesnât taste Thai food at all. The servers are all very friendly and nice, but pardon for my bluntness that I wonât recommend this place based on our picky taste bud on Thai food especially for anyone who craves for Thai food.
Authentic thai food
If itâs Thai food, I have little to complain. This restaurant serves Thai food at a reasonable price. Although the taste is not the best, it is still pretty authentic. They could do better with the A/C, it felt hot inside (twice Iâve been there) especially since Thai food can be spicy and the weather in Mandalay is soaring hot. Fair enough service, clean environment, attentive waiters.

27th street Between 65th and 66th street,Chan Aye Thar San township,Mandalay. The restaurant serve food Asia and Chinese style(Curries, fried chicken wing with honey, pork with Basil leaf...)and another fresh fruit and cool drink.Very good review on TripAdvi
We came in here looking for something simple (ie western) due to a bit of a dodgy stomach but ended having Burmese food anyway. Quite nice but nothing to get too excited about. Definitely aimed at the tourist market and a little bit expensive. Good service though. Advertising board outside offered burgers - which is what drew us in - but nothing like it on the menu.

Where to eat European food in Sagaing: The Best Restaurants and Bars
Visited after seeing reviews on trip advisor. Looks new restaurant, very modern, clean and bright. Staff very pleasant and helpful, good understanding of English. Service efficient. Mixed feelings on food, my friends food was up to expectations but my dish was not what I ordered in terms of taste, not spicy which you expect of Thai food. On a positive note staff did take note and apologised. Not sure would return.

One of best thai/myanmar/chinese food restaurant in City of mandalay is welcome us on the highway between MDL to downtown. The food is displayed in trays in glass window to choose by ourself , serving with sidedishes of veggies, tealeaves , Namprick , and steamed rice. It's incredibly cheap price with great taste.
Sagaing Region, Myanmar Food Guide: 10 Bar food Must-Eat Restaurants & Street Food Stalls in Sagaing
We stumbled across this restaurant after the two previous ones we tried did not have anything vegetarian on the menu. The staff were very friendly from the moment we entered. The restaurant was tastfully decorated and looked very clean. The waiter spoke good English and offered suggestions to suit our diet. After ordering we were told mushrooms were no longer available for one of the dishes so they asked if we would like the same dish with various substitutions to compensate. Shortly after we were told that some mushrooms had been delivered and if we wanted them, they could be added to the dish. When the food arrived it was excellent with a big variety of vegetables and full of flavour. Everything tasted fresh. The owner came to check with us, so we asked him to join us at the table and had a great conversation about his vision for Myanmar and it's people and what led him to opening the restaurant. He also introduced us to his two grown sons and wife who were all in the restaurant at the time and all very pleasant. A very unexpected and enjoyable evening with great food at a good price. Highly recommended.

Nice decor and nice ambiance. However, service was woefully slow and portions of chicken larb and chicken with garlic were tiny and totally devoid of chilli. Beer only available by 330ml glass (at 2000 kyat a time). If you're into knitting your own yoghurt, drinking fruit shakes and eating only fried rice then maybe this will please. If you enjoy authentic Thai food, find somewhere else
