In a small street, you will find this typical japanese restaurant. This restaurant has 6-8 seats. Very small place. The food is perfect, very nice fresh fishes.Service is very nice. Very polite. The cooker prepare food in front of you and reduce if needed the amount of natural wasabi ;)You can taste different sake .Quality is there. Price, not cheap.I recommend this place :) We can pay by credit card.

Takaoka Food Guide: 10 Must-Eat Restaurants & Street Food Stalls in Takaoka

We went for lunch at around midday the other day and after a short wait for our number to come up, we were seated. Two of the lunch specials had already sold out by this time, but there was still two selections available. We chose the set meals on our computer screen after being seated, and received them after only a few minutes. We also had our miso soup brought to us by the wait staff. The meal was very quickly delivered given the restaurant was so crowded. They have their version of a sushi train which delivers food directly to tables (if you chose to be seated at a table). The trains look like little "shinkansens" and given the restaurant is about 5-10min walk from Shin Takaoka Eki, this seemed somehow novel and appropriate. The food was very fresh. You could see the chefs making it from where you sat. We chose a seat around the production area instead of a table, given it was only 2 of us for lunch. The portions were a good size for the price, so we were well and truly sated by the end of the meal. Sencha, gari, shoyu, etc is right there in front of you so the meal was very convenient (no waiting for these things) as well as being delicious. As well as set lunch meals, you could order anything from the menu or pick items from the more traditional sushi train which ran around the production area. All up, the restaurant is very busy and the food is very fresh. I live near the restaurant and often see crowds lined up prior to opening time at 11am.It is in between Takaoka Railway Station and Shin Takaoka Railway Station and an easy walk from either.
