This was the most sub par sushi joint in Langley I've ever been in. Service was friendly but slow and inattentive (only 2 tables were seated for 3 employees.) the tempura was poor, very heavy breading. Chicken Karaage was just little pieces of chicken breaded in what appeared to be tempura, no flavour (appeared to have not been marinated) and over cooked. Dynamite roll was fine, what you expect of one. Toro sashimi was a low grade cut, toro is supposed to melt in your mouth but the majority of this was more like regular tuna. The gomaae was good but definitely the smallest serving I've ever seen. I can't recommend this restaurant at all and caution first timers that the reviews are suspiciously excellent for a place that is below average for the area.

This place is always busy and lineups are there too. If you enjoy great food then the sushi is a must carefully hand rolled and plated . Great Japanese dishes and the best chef ever and his crew. You have not tried great food until you tried it here. Take outs are here too. Eat in or out

I have eaten here twice now, and it's been good both times. Friendly server, nice clean setting. The food is good, although items like ramen are a bit bland. You can always add the chili flakes though. Both times I've been there, they have given us complimentary desserts, which was a nice touch.

Very friendly staff, large selection of sushi rolls, appies, rice dishes, bento boxes and lunch specials. Very conveniently located right off the exit of freeway across the parking lot of the famous Cabelas outdoor store. Have been there a couple of times and have recommended it to friends. Prices are reasonable, everything appears clean and tidy including the washroom! Only complaint is that the large sushi rolls, while delicious, need to be rolled tighter - otherwise flavour is great and presentation is nice. Great stop for a quick sushi fix.

While on business in Langley I went for dinner at Sushi Avenue. It was early evening and even though I walked in and greeted the two chefs, it was a while before the hostess noticed me. I almost left as I thought I may never be served. However, once I was noticed the service was acceptable and pleasant. The sushi was very good. The tuna sashimi melted in your mount, and the different rolls were interesting. Not the traditional bland sushi rolls you get in other places, these rolls had different textures and sauces that made for an excellent dinning experience.

The service was impeccable, the decor modest but charming, and the food excellent. I found this place by accident, heading back to the highway, and couldn't have been more pleased. My sushi was well-prepared as were the other items in my bento box - I couldn't begin to finish everything as the servings were huge. And the price was astonishingly low. I highly recommend this place.

We spent a great day in Langley with our good friends. For lunch, we headed to Hirame sushi. We ordered a lot of food and it was all good! Sushi tower, sushi/nigiri boat with tempura, spider roll, pizza sushi - my favourite as rice was crisp and the salad refreshing, sushi box with gyoza, California yam roll, sunomono salad, miso soup, chicken karage. We all left full and satisfied:)

We would never have found this place on our own as we don't live in this area - but friends who used to live here recommended it as their "favorite sushi place" so we agreed to meet up at Noma. It's in a new mall near 208th where they have been building houses, TH, condos like mad for the past few years and has clearly become a huge hit: the Saturday night we got there a little before 6 pm: by 6:30 there wasn't an empty table, and it's a decent sized place. We were greeted by the sushi chefs and the hostess on entering, given the option of a couple tables, and brought tea and water immediately on request. Then we studied the menu...for a while...While they don't have bento boxes for dinner (yes, for lunch) it's easy to build-your-own combo from their menu. We had the Assorted Tempura which came with 14 pieces (including four prawns) as an appy. Nice presentation - excellent flavors. We all had miso soup - not much to say except that I love having a cup to start and at $1.50 that's an easy call IF you're not ordering a sushi combo (included with those).Three of us had different sushi combos - all were very generous and well prepared. One of us had chicken teriyaki instead: I tried a bite - really nicely flavored and on a bed of mung sprouts, with a side of white rice.Total bill including tax and nice tip came to under $20 per person.Really an outstanding choice!
