Service here was great. Simba, our waiter, was extremely attentive and made sure that all our orders were taken and arrived in a timely manner. View was great and just beside the beach. The food was value for money. I particularly liked the sweet potato fries and crumbed mushrooms. While the toilets were clean, the tables and seats werenât the cleanest.Hi yangstravels, Thank you for taking the time to review us. Always visit Cattle Baron for lunch or dinner when we visit Somerset West. However this time it was very disappointing. We had a brand new waitress (first day on the job), which wasnât a problem but why wasnât she âshadowedâ with an experienced waiter? We ordered and the salad we ordered was the wrong salad. Eventually the correct salad was delivered to the table but at the same time as the entree. There was no Red Graptiser (really this is the home of this drink...how can you run out of it?), service was slow (it was the middle of the afternoon with very few customers at the restaurant). The steak however was delicious. The bill was also wrong as they charged the wrong amount for my chicken dish (which was from the early diners menu and not the regular menu) Not sure we will return however as the service and the rest of the food was not up to standard! It is clear that we dropped the ball with your recent visit and can understand that you were upset after the experience. You are quite right in saying that the waiter should have been shadowed which clearly wasn't the case. an Unnecessary mistake from our side. As a regular I'm sure you can appreciate the fact that the service you experienced during your last visit is not the normal standards we keep and can I only apologize for our poor performance.We certainly have a few new waiters on our staff and some still to start but it is our responsibility to get them up to scratch before they serve any of our customers. I will look into the matter too and make sure that we step it up in the training we give to eliminate any potential mistakes like the ones we made with you.We can't force you to come back but will we certainly appreciate it if you can forgive us for the mess up and find your way back to our store.
