This restaurant has an incredible vibe and offer generous portions! Their cocktails are great especially the John Deer. We usually have the Wednesday pizza special and its worth every cent. The staff are friendly and the manager is always around to ensure that you are fine. I would recommend booking a table before you go as they are ofter full.

The beef at this restaurant comes at an affordable price; even in SA terms.The quality ad taste is always what it should be and it becomes obvious that you are not served old cows, but something that more resembles the marrow of their bones.The service is excellent and the minimalist approach in decor successfully reflects the cellars that are promoted here.A must when you are within a hundred miles.

My wife and I spent time in the Mooirivier Mall and when we looked again it was supper time. Instead of driving to our self catering apartment and making supper, we decided to have supper at the Montana Spur. They really tried to help my wife who has a host of food allergies, including gluten, milk and she is also diabetic. She had the ribs without any basting or sauces and I had a combo meal. It was good value for money, fair portions for the price and good service. When we arrived at our self catering apartment, we found the electricity was off, so we would not have been able to cook in any case. Chose Mike's Kitchen because of the great outdoor kids play area which is also supervised. Lots of seating options in this restaurant which is nicw but sadly the breakfast was a dissapointment. Three of the four plates of Eggs Benedict came with overdone, hard eggs. The other meal came with the wrong toast. I also don't understand raw onions and cabbage as a garnish with breakfast. Just leave it off or put a tomato or gherkins on. Some attention to the cooking and plating could make this a great place.

As regular customers here since the place opened many years ago, we are a bit concerned that they are losing their touch. We are used to excellent quality meat, perfectly grilled to the customerâs satisfaction , and being one of the best restaurants in the country. But alas, the last two times we were here we experienced poor quality beef (sinewy and fatty), not grilled to order (either too rare or well-done). The service however remains excellent.Nit-picking, maybe, but we are used to much better!Granted, when we pointed this out we were offered free DomPedros, which we certainly appreciated.Just turn up a notch, please Beef Boys, to get back to what we were used to.
