Steak house, t-bon, salads , pasta ,
The location is unassuming, yet the food is excellent. The menu is classical for a meat restaurant, including a diverse selection of appetizers, specialities and meat cuts.Note - while not having a kosher certificate, the place has no dairy products on premises (only meat and vegetables).

Went for dinner with family. I have been a few times in the past and the service is usually patchy but we had a really efficient waitress who got everything right and was attentive and friendly. What a difference this makes.Food is well prepared and well presented and the meat is pretty good. The place is a bit noisy but this is Israel.I am happy to recommend this restaurant if you want a good steak. It is a bit price so be circumspect in what you order.

First of all, let us be clear which restaurant I am reviewing: the English tag line is "Meat and Eat"; the Hebrew name is (phonetically) Lechem Basar and that translates to "Bread and Meat". Tripadvisor calls it "Lechem Basarnet". Perhaps that is its web service. Whatever you call it, it is in the precinct underneath Netanya's Island Hotel and it serves some of the best food in town. By the way, I'm not trying to be clever. I know that "the best food in Netanya" sounds line one of those things like the tallest man in the pygmy village, or the prettiest girl in Stoke-on-Trent, but I really mean it. The food is seriously good. There's nothing at all wrong with it - the starters are all tasty and inventive, and the meat main courses are abundant and top quality. I would go as far as to say this new group of restaurants achieves a significant and positive push of the envelope for kosher restaurants chains in Israel and beyond. Now the not-so-good bit. You have to believe me that I'm not generally one to whinge about the price of a meal just because it's more than it would cost to buy the ingredients in a supermarket. I fully appreciate that the economics of running a restaurant mean that there has to be a decent mark-up. We are buying a holistic experience, not simply a plate of food and a glass of drink. In Tel Aviv, London or New York, you should not expect to get away from a top restaurant for much less than $100 a head, and be happy for doing so. However, there is something much more important than "cost", and that is "value". To charge seven English quids for a bottle of fizzy water, or two pounds for one medium sized mushroom on top of my burger redefines chutzpah, especially if you're in Netanya and the service is somewhat ropey.OMG, the service! I have eaten in the chain's branch in Herzliyah and the whole experience was very slick and professional. Here, it really was amateur hour. Had it been opening night I would probably have given it a pass, but its been open almost a year. On a quiet night, there were only about five tables occupied. During the course of the night every one of the 6 or 7 staff attempted to serve us (and no-one in authority came near us). All were as polite and eager, but almost nothing was done correctly. No waiter seemed capable of carrying more than two plates at a time, explaining the menu or getting anything right that was at all non-standard. Hell, I forgive all that - they were probably guarding a checkpoint in Gaza a month ago. But please don't charge like they are the highly trained staff at Le Gavroche. The worst thing of all was, as we were leaving a character emerged who looked like he might be the manager. "Are you the manager?" said I. ""I am" he replied, puffing out his chest. "It was a bit rubbish tonight actually" said I (or words to that affect). "I train them" said he. There might be a reason only 5 (out of about 30) tabes were occupied. This spot under the Island is a restaurants' graveyard. I want this one to have a long and successful tenure there. Whoever owns this chain needs to get the service up to the same standard as the food, and take a long and hard look at the pricing.

Excellant restaurant built alongside the gas station on route 2 serving American diner style food. Inside or outside tables with good service and a comprehensive menu.My Sloppy Joe was memorable as were all the other dishes our table of four ordered. You can't book its first come first served but the wait has never been long. If offered the four seater booths be careful as the seating is very tight.

Went for dinner with my children. I like the meze type , all you can eat, starter. The main course came cold, to be fair they were most apologetic and heated up. We ordered cocktails which were tasteless, they re did them, and they were much better. I think the staff are a bit overwhelmed and might need some training. The restaurant was crowded and it was Pesach , but they should be able to cope.

Had an amazing meal here and would highly recommend. Brilliant food and great staff too. Plenty for kids to eat on a nice kids menu and main menu is delicious. Sorry we only went once. It is expensive but I'd say worth every penny. Also has a butchers shop in the restaurant so can also buy fantastic steaks to take home and cook too.

Simply excellent and moderately priced. Every dish was excellent appetizers, main dish and desserts. The team was professional. The vibe is not as good as the food. We will be back
