Staff is very friendly and responsive. All water sites are nice and you can reserve by site online. Water and electric only. Dump station near entrance. Grill and picnic table. No fire ring but apparently ground fires are allowed. Gravel and paved sites. Nice and peaceful. Quite a few long timers but plenty of space between sites. All sites seemed big enough to accommodate all size rigs. Some motor coaches, 5th wheels and also tents. Secure gate requiring access code. Convenient to the highway. Would stay again and remember to bring bait.

We camp at Lake Lowndes on a regular basis. The staff is friendly and helpful. They do a great job of keeping the grounds clean and looking good. There is a campground, beautiful lake for boating or fishing, ball fields, basketball gym, and disc golf course.

We spent a family Thanksgiving at Tishomingo State Park, just off the Natchez Trace. Cabins are comfortable and perfectly rustic with linens, paper towels and soap provided. Ice and firewood are available at checking or bring your own. The check in process was seamless. We appreciated that the front desk had our packet of essentials (key, park guide, hiking trails) ready. They were knowledgeable about our reservation without looking it up, which showed an appreciative element of hospitality. We settled in with a toasty fire, and hit the Outcroppings Trail by mid-morning. Note this is a trail for exploration so plan to take longer than a typical flat two miles. The first half of the trail is moderately challenging and rocky, but doable with an active 5-year old. Just watch your step! There are six other trails, all well marked. This is a beautifully maintained park, and it’s even decorated for the holidays. Its CCC history is well documented. This is a great camping and hiking destination, but plan a few days to see it all.

Nestled in the piney woods of southwest Mississippi is a beautiful, serene state park. Discovered this place online and myself and 4 other friends decided we would take our RV's there and spend a week. Making reservations online and reserving the campsites we wanted was easy and accommodating. All the campsites were well maintained and had all the amenities that modern day campers have come to expect. The scenery is beautiful. A large lake big enough for boating, fishing and all water recreation activities is right there. Bath houses are plentiful, boat launches and camp stores are onsite and the grounds are meticulously well kept. The staff are friendly and unintrusive. Pets are welcome in the campground. Cabins are also available to rent. Hattiesburg MS, is a stone's throw away for shopping, dining and nightlife. The MS gulf coast with beaches and casino's is less than a hour away. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet get-away in a beautiful setting.

Because of business, we have had to stay at this park several times. We stay in the RV camping area and are always very impressed with how clean the park is. The maintenance is the best in the state parks grounds keeping and house cleaning in the bathrooms. The bathrooms are checked about 3 times a day and maintained. That has been no water in the lake because of repairs being done, but even still, the park itself is beautiful and really has been the best state park for camping that we have experienced and we have stayed at many of the Mississippi state parks. The RV manager and his wife are very, very friendly and we have witnessed the sheriff driving around our campsite many times. We felt very safe there. We would highly recommend this park to all campers.
