Popham Beach State Park

State park and beach area that is located on a peninsula near Bath, Maine.

Reviewed By BeachSeekers123 - Louisville, United States

We spent three days at Popham Beach and loved it. The views are spectacular, you can walk to historic forts and at low tide walk out to a rocky island. It was a little chilly here in early October, but this is definitely a place I would recommend and hope we are able to return to in warmer weather good place to watch a sunset!

Birch Point Beach State Park

Tour the Owls Head Lighthouse and Owls Head Transportation Museum.

Reviewed By 259LauraS - Bamako, Mali

This was the low-key, un-crowded beach we were looking for. Even on a warm saturday, there was plenty of room to spread out and be socially-distant. Kids loved the calm water and the sand. Adults enjoyed walking on the paths and climbing the rocks. We enjoyed lunch on picnic benches and everything was very clean and relaxing. Beautiful view.

Camden Hills State Park

Thirty miles of hiking trails keep the staunchest hiker trekking along.

Reviewed By cardou27 - Greenwich, United States

Great views overlooking the harbor of Camden from Mount Battie and an informative map on the top (near the stone tower which is currently closed for Covid) showing the surrounding islands. A leisurely drive to the top of about 1.25 miles or a hike from one of the many parking lots. Also, plenty of hiking trails of a variety of difficulty and parking for campers.

Reid State Park

This state park has two miles of hiking trails and a beautiful beach.

Reviewed By mainelocally - Wiscasset, United States

Reid State Park has the most beautiful wide sandy beaches with sand bars and tidal pools. There are multiple beaches to choose from in the state park so that it is almost never crowded. Along the rockier parts are areas with picnic tables and grills. Some of these are set among the trees which provide a shady area, while others are in open sunnier areas. There is a lovely large shallow pond that is for children to swim in which has a lifeguard on duty. Also a great place to kayak in the wetland area. There are bathrooms and changing rooms. However there is no kiosk to buy food from, so bring your own lunch and snacks.
