Come alone or bring your family with you, stay here for a night or for weeks, stay here while on business trip or at some kind of conference - either way our Hotel is the best possible variant. We are closed to madu river. You can taste our live sea foods
We were looking forward to a great lunch but were extremely disappointed by this restaurant.. We ordered typical curry & rice & chose a fresh fish (US 22/- for an 800gram fish!).And settled waiting & waiting for our food.. The curry rice appeared after 55minutes.. and the fish 10minutes later. The curry fish was tasteless .. as was the curry chicken... The accompanying dal was uncooked! The fried fish the saving grace...Altogether a extremely disappointing experience...

Local Sri Lankan restaurant in Main Street. Good place for take-away. They have Sri Lankan rice & curry buffet at lunch time, which is very tasty. They also have a very good Kottu and fried rice. The restaurant is popular with the locals.

The restaurant is some how wrapped in with the river safari and the accommodation but not sure how. The good bits are the view from the ponton seating floating in the river is nice and relaxing, there are loos and a place to wash your hands and its shady. The club sandwich and homemade lemonade were soooo much better than every thing else served up it made our large group of 15 family members a bit grizzly. The not so good bit is that it is expensive by Sri Lankan standards, the food is okayish not great but took a long time. My main issue was lots of cats and we had to chase the young kids around given they could fall in, fall off or get bitten or scratched by the cats which they chased or where terrified by in equal measures. Remember it is also cash only and dont tell your kids about the milk shake, you could by a house for the cost of 4 of them.

Chill pill is a restaurant with chilling family friendly place by the beach with good vibes and music
Visiting Chill pill was a highlight of our time in Sri Lanka. The perfect place to relax and party, delicious food and an unbelievably cool crew running it. We loved partying with you guys, and thank you for having us. Hope our paths cross again one day. Big love, Kate & Max

The service is friendly, and the food is good, you can have a seafood platter cheaper than anywhere in the vicinity, and it is yummy. Takes a while to cook though.

We had a real pleasure to stop for a lunch at this restaurant. We felt like at home, enjoying a true family atmosphere. The food was great, truely homemade and delicious. Our meal was served on the terrace in beautiful garden.Nothing to add - it is âa mustâ if you are in Kosgoda. And even if the door is closed, you need to knock and talk to the owner to check if they are ready to host you (that was our case) - but it exactly shows that itâs a family restaurant with fresh, homemade food. Thanks for your visit and review. Since we can see the smiles of our guests, we all smile a lot more than we used to do.

Booked for dinner after many phone calls not being answered. Had the special garlic prawns which were tiny and tasted like they had been cooked in marmite served with a slice of white toast?!? Then ordered Thai chicken curry which my friend said was tasty. My tuna was so tough I sent it back. Told I would have a new one in 2 mins. After 15 mins when friend had finished eating and the table was cleared I went to find out where mine was. It arrived several minutes later stone cold. Sent it back and didnât pay for it. This place should not be no1. Try sunshine instead and see my review Would not recommend jungleDear valued guest, thank you for taking time to review Jungle Beach Ahungalla. We are sorry that you had this experience at our restaurant. As you can see in our menu the Sweet & Spicy Prawns are a starter, so they are not big sized and that they are served with toast. We are having very clear rules that our service should sell tuna steaks only when they are very fresh, so that they don't get tough. This was definitely our mistake and the management has taken action already. This should not happen anymore. Also it is not possible for our kitchen to prepare a new tuna steak in 2 minutes. Also there for we have taken action and excuse the wrong information of our service staff. He should have offered you a sear fish steak as an alternative. So it would be great to see you once again. You would definitely revisit your review. Thank you and have a nice day!

A calm and quiet place where you can have a wide variety of food on your choice with a beautiful scenery of Madhu river.
We came across this place from TripAdvisor itself while looking for a different lunch experience during our stay at shinagawa. The location is great as itâs right by the water where Madu falls to the ocean (recommend that you sit right by the water as itâs much cooler and has a good views) We had the prawn curry with steamed rice and my husband the grilled crab and chips. Both dishes were delicious and the seafood was super fresh. Really enjoyed our visit and will keep this in mind next time We drive past. Note to owners : would be good to clean up the waterfront regularly it would make it that much better!!
