We've been there in July 2019. It's a really great place to spend day with your family. XVIII and XIX century buildings were transported there from whole Orava region - it's a great history lesson. Beautiful location almost in West Tatras is huge value as well. Restaurant next to the entrance is serving delicious food!

Very well put together museum on 3 floors with lots to see for adults and kids, from cave exploration to cultures and wildlife and more, in an interesting converted building. Nice also to walk round the old town centre.

Wooden settlement Vlkolínec is perfect place for seeing unique Slovak folk architecture and it is good place for relax- I am sure that sorrounding nature, mountains, birds singing will have positively effect on your wellbeing. Vlkolínec is situated on the hill, road on hill is narrow and parking- 1 euro. Dominant of village is bell tower. It is possible to visit just one house- peasant´s house. In some houses live people and in some of them is offered accommodation for tourists. In village is also situated Roman Catholic Church of St. Mary Visitation. You can buy some handmade souvernirs from locals (some of them are a little expensive) or I recommend you to have lunch and try tasty sweet steamed damplings. Some cultural- social activities are prepared in village during summer season. I highly recommend you to visit unique open air museum that was in 1993 registered on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
