State of the art place to visit. Rich in concept of a museum and good curation. Amazing restaurant at the Institute and large greener spot to relax and snap pictures.

Definitely worth a visit. Shows how Spanish Jews, exiled in 1492, fled to Portugal. When the Inquisition came to Portugal thousands made the long journey to Brazil ...There in the port town they built this historic Synagogue. Then the inquisition came to Brazil. Many of those Jews who did not convert or were still persecuted as "New Christians" went to New Amsterdam (later N ew Yor City) where the Dutch gave all comers (including Quakers, Hugenaugt, Protestants, etc. safe haven & protection against religious persecution. The synagogue fell into disrepair and Jew Street where it was located became a slum. Onl,y recently, the banker Safra financed the restoration and Jew Street, Now Good Jesus (Rua Bom Jesus) Street has become a lively tourist destination, walking distance from the cruise boat docks.

I was really impressed by the collection. This guy is prolific and the place is beautiful. I didn’t know what to expect, since I was not much into ceramics, and after visiting, I am a big fan.

Modern museun, with a comprehensive collection ranging from pieces from craftsmanship to the music of the region. Interesting instalations like the echo tunnel and the karaokes booth were your here all the brazilian northeastern instruments like "sanfona and zabumba" and s.
