Jeju is a hot tourist spot, booming with unique attractions. Romantic sunrises and sunsets, mild climate and beautiful sandy beaches make Jeju a popular honeymoon destination. Adventurers can hike to Baeknok Lake at the top of Mount Halla, South Korea’s highest peak. Keep an eye out for the “haenyeo,” female divers gathering fresh seafood, and the iconic “grandfather statues” displayed outside of many restaurants.

In 1968, Director Sung set on his project to turn a piece of deserted 'wasteland' at Jeoji-ri, Hanyoung-myon into something else. Thanks to his strenuous efforts and strong will, we now have the beautiful garden that represents the quintessence of Jeju. Consisting of 7 small gardens and auxiliary facilities, this Spirited Garden provides spaces where you can find peace of mind surrounded by waterfall, ponds, stone bridges as well as trees. All the garden trees, bunjaes, and stones allows you to relieve yourself from any everyday life burden and to take a respite to enjoy the beauty of the nature. High walls built in order to protect trees from strong winds became castles and the architectures built to house exhibitions and to serve convenience purposes now represent the beauty of the nature in Jeju. They are sure to provide people from around the world with chances to think of a new paradigm of life
A beautiful and peaceful place where you get to enjoy the bonsai works of decades and think on life through each of their characteristic and how they were grown. Totally worth a visit and entrance fee! It was also a good experience we got to talk to the director who founded the garden! Much respect.

I would recommend that you read the book “The Island of Sea Women” by Lisa See before visiting the museum. I felt an emotional connection to the museum, the observatory and the grounds around the area, primarily because I had some background knowledge. The museum is well laid out and interesting. Do take the time to watch the video on the main floor before going through the exhibits. If you are there around 10:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. you may be able to see the women divers from the observatory on the 3rd floor. Getting there: we were on a cruise ship and took a taxi from the ship terminal in Jeju City. It took about an hour and was a very scenic drive. Our taxi driver gave us an hour to tour the museum and grounds and then dropped us off by the main market area in downtown Jeju City. It was under $100 for four people in a taxi.

Moreover, you will also meet our teddy bears dressed in traditional clothes of countries around the world and as gods from Greek mythology. Lastly, some of our teddy bears will be dressed up as Korean celebrities whom you may be well aware of.

We chance upon this on our drive from Seogwipo to Hyeopjae. The pink building is big and visible from the highway. They should have repainted it as it looks washout and faded pink. But once I step in, it’s totally new! Infact it is even newer than Sanrio Puroland which I visited in Tokyo and bigger than there! I am a true blue HK fan since 40 years ago. Once HK fan steps in, I am sure you will be transformed to a little princess at heart and you’ll be so excited again! There are a lot of Instagram worthy area to take photos. As others pointed out, it has a section that talks about the evolution of HK from 1970s till now. There are HK rooms, dining room, bus, living room, wardrobe, dressing room etc. Even the toilets are so pretty! Level 2 offers some purikura area, a restaurant and some other HK displays. There is a 3D dancing room too. On the 3rd floor, there is a open air rooftop HK small maze. On level 1, you go through the souvenirs shop to exit and a notice states that once u exit, u can’t go in again. So it’s best that u buy yr souvenirs when u are ready to leave. I swear I could stay there for 3 hours but as my husband is with me, it only took us about 1.5 hrs to complete our visit. Overall this place is small and not much for non Kitty fans. For us Kitty fans, it is definitely a must visit.
