There’s plenty to see and do in this 2,000-year-old German city. The gothic Saint Bartholomeus Cathedral is a perseverant structure, having been destroyed and rebuilt twice since its 14th century construction. Catch a screening at the German Film Museum, stroll the exhibit halls of one of Frankfurt’s many galleries, or climb to the top of the Main Tower for sweeping 360-degree views of the city.

In just four years of conception, planning and realization, the museum created a sequence of spectacular underground galleries and chambers in which visitors can experience gold in many ways. As a museum of art and cultural history, Goldkammer Frankfurt is dedicated to inform and amaze curious people and art lovers as well as children and teens. Unique and valuable exhibits tell the story of the fascinating element – from its origins in space to its significance as status symbol of different cultures. Of course its use as means of exchange and payment can be discovered, too. The exhibition is complemented by numerous videos and animations around the exhibits, which invite you on an exciting discovery journey through the small treasure rooms of the museum.

Hidden in the alt city center this museum is worth of visiting. But I recommend to read the Struwwelpeter book first

The Money Museum is an interactive place for exploring the world of money. How is cash produced? What is book money? How does monetary policy work and what exactly does a central bank do? What role does money play in a globalised world? Striking exhibits, attractive staging and more than 80 media stations with games and interactive information provide answers to these and many more money-related questions. The topics are approached from both a current and a historical perspective. The exhibition is both in German and English.

The Museum Judengasse highlights the history of one of the most important Jewish centers in Europe, praised for its rich cultural life and scholarship. It includes the ruins of the first Jewish ghetto in Europe. Next door you can visit one of the oldest Jewish cemeteries in Europe with the oldest graves dating back to the 13th century. Togehter with the neighboring Börneplatz-Memorial these three places form a unique historical ensemble right in the city center of Frankfurt.
A small museum but with plenty packed into it. Built over the remnants of the old Jewish Ghetto, which can be seen and walked around, with many artefacts from that era. Everything is in both German and English, which helps. You get a real true idea of how life was for Jews back in time and how they lived day to day. My only regret was not having time to visit the graveyard next door.
