Sustainable Hotel with super friendly and motivated staff
Reviewed By V8903ODfranknI am writing this review as a German traveler, traveling in beginning of June 2022, after the borders were opened recently. Therefore, it is understandable, that not everything works perfectly yet. Zoe's Paradise is really a paradise. It is run by a Swiss/Indonesian couple. I was very warm welcomed and was offered a free upgrade to a room with balcony. I had a very good time there, with all staff being extremely friendly and helpful, e.g., when checking possible ways to get to Medan from Parapat (Spoiler: it's not very easy at the Moment). The hotel is clean, the rooms good. However, my bathroom was comparably small. But okay. The pool and its facilities are also nice and clean, with two slides. The hotel aims for sustainability, which I can fully support. You see this e.g. by the absence of AC and the shampoo dispenser instead of little one-time bottles. Very nice. When I left, I was given an impressive local present. That was really cool and again underlines the familiarity in this hotel. In general the hotel is very good equipped with things I often miss in a 4* hotel, e.g. slippers, a socket extension, pool towels ready, extra pillows.... Once again, thank you very much for this great stay with you. Hope to see you soon again. In summary: + Very friendly and helpful staff + It's a very nice feeling, that all staff know your name + Spacious room, but small bathroom + Very nice pool area with two slides and stuff for kids to play. + Western standard in several areas (e.g. socket extension cord... Jap, the small things make the stay there more comfortable) + Good breakfast, with lots of variety in fruits. But providing more butter and jam/honey would be good. + Stable WiFi, good water pressure and overall well organized - there was quite a lot of rubbish (water bottle etc.) and plants in the water in front of the hotel. This surely not comes from the hotel, but cleaning it would be better and makes a better feeling when starting to swim. - lunch/dinner food, as there is no chef currently. So there is only nasi goreng and mie goreng available. However, I was told that they are currently hiring a chef. - laundry service, it returned half of my clothes still being dirty. The management excused a lot for this issue and will talk to their laundry providers to improve. >>>>> In summary summary: I can highly recommend staying there and hope that with more tourist coming, some shortcomings are removed automatically. If I travel to Lake Toba again, I will definitely stay at Zoe's again, as it was a very open and friendly stay.

Very affordable but a little dark at night
Reviewed By wallflower69It's located in a small lane so we gotta walk 5mins to the main street to get to cafes, warungs and supermarket. Although it's a little dark but it's still pretty safe. There are about 4 eatery choices nearby and there isn't a big shopping centre within walking distance.. you can take a grab betor instead. The best thing about this place is the low price and decent facilities. The hotel looks pretty new actually plus the staff are also very helpful.

Staying at Penginapan Mitra Belitung is a good choice when you are visiting Tanjung Pandan. The hotel has a very good location, also near the Hanandjoeddin Airport (TJQ), which is only 12.73 km away. This place is very easy to find since it is strategically positioned close to public facilities.

Reviewed By aprilk596Think of the film The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Although there were some faults with what was quite a new hotel, the charm and willingness by all the staff made up for this. There was always a delay or two in trying to get things (wifi, water, most of the dinner menu) but the hotel is in a beautiful location and the effort put in by the staff made up for any problems.

Most stunning hidden idyllic place to stay in Lake Toba
Reviewed By Sita SWords cannot describe enough how beautiful, serene and memorable this place is! The Staff there are exceptional! They seems to have flowing hospitality. From morning to evening you will be spoiled by endless moment to enjoy beautiful nature be it canoeing ( my favorites), collecting duck eggs, picking herbs and vegetables from the garden, collecting fresh water lobster! Food are good and made of things that the lake and the garden produce! I still remember how calming and blissful is every moment I went for canoeing with Cathy their dog... a mindful.. soul blessing moment... Tips: avoid long weekends, Ied, Lebaran, Christmas and New Year holidays as there would be a way too many locals that will ruin your blissful moment with the crazy freaking noise and non stop selfie scream they made

Reviewed By Robertus RThe checkin process was fast, the rooms are ok. A lot of the air cons were broken so we have to switch room. The bathroom was clean. The quilt is very thin so it is extra cold in the early morning. The bfast was ordinary. But still edible. Book the hotel with very large group.

Reviewed By afiramadhanDidn't expect this to be a 3-star hotel; feels like 5 star, all is new, buffet breakfast is much appreciated despite many other hotel in the nations scrapped this option. Wide options of food served. Although check-in was a bit slow because of "cleaning reason, we had a full occupancy", but still appreciated how fresh the hotel was. Staff is friendly. Kudos!
