Welcome to Vík Apartments, which opened in June 2018. We offer fully furnished apartments for short-term rent in the heart of Vík. The apartments are bright and modern and have a fantastic view, with spacious south terrace facing offering magnificent views over the black sand beach and the Reynisdrangar pillars. The hotel’s environment is magnificent, surrounded by mountains, glaciers and the sea. All of the South Coast‘s natural pearls are in reach, and in addition, the bird life is varied; here are among the largest Artic tern and puffin colonies in Iceland. The village Vík is also immensely beautiful, so it is ideal to take a relaxed walk around it on a mild evening after a good dinner at one of the many great restaurants in Vík.
This apartment was quite large and perfect for my family of 4. We were walking distance to restaurants, groceries, etc. The in-unit laundry was definitely a huge plus as well (bring or buy your own detergent). Check in/out was a breeze at the nearby hotel reception. Highly recommend!

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights to take a break from my ring road trip after visiting the sites on the Golden Circle. I stayed 2 nights in part because I did a day trip to Thorsmork area by bus. The bus station to Thorsmork is located at N1 gas station in Hvolsvöllur and it is just a 5-minute drive from this hotel. The hotel serves dinner and breakfast. The food is so delicious. I had really a good meal after a big hike in Thorsmork.

Guesthouse 14 is a cozy guesthouse, with four rooms and one shared bathroom. It is located in Selfoss, a town of approximately 5000 inhabitants just about 50 kilometres from Reykjavik. Selfoss is driving distance from many of southern Iceland’s legendary tourist attractions including the Golden Circle (Geysir, Gullfoss and Þingvellir). While in Selfoss you can take leisurely day trips to some of the most beautiful waterfalls in Iceland such as Skogafoss and Seljalandsfoss. Other places of interest nearby are the old fishing villages of Eyrabakki and Stokkseyri, the volcanic crater lake Kerid, scenic walking trails and much more. Guesthouse 14 is easy walking distance to the community swimming pool and to downtown Selfoss where you will find many unique shops and restaurants. We are happy to help you with any questions you may have about what to do and see while you are in Iceland. We look forward to meeting you.
Nice guesthouse in the city centre of Selfoss, within walking distance of restaurants. The owners are friendly. The facilities are clean and there are two bathrooms (shower + toilets) for 4 bedrooms so we never had to queue to use the bathroom. There is a small fridge in the shared area where you can keep some small food items. The guesthouse is upstairs so this is not for people who can't go up the stairs. All in all the best value for money we got in Iceland!

We had a room in a cottage with a nice view. The room was spacious. It was not soundproof when the neighbours talked to each other we could here them. Breakfast was included and was delicious and the view from the restaurant in little geysir was beautiful. We booked diner in the Geysir hotel. The restaurant is beautiful, the food was delicious and we had a view on the geysir.

Magma Hotel is a small and intimate hotel located in one of the most beautiful regions of south Iceland, close to Kirkjubæjarklaustur. The view from the hotel is unique--a lake rich with birdlife, moss covered lava fields, a black sand glacial river, as well as volcanoes and glaciers looming in the distance. It’s also the perfect place to catch a glimpse of the majestic northern lights in winter. Stay at Magma Hotel to relax and enjoy nature in a modern, yet charming atmosphere.
The rooms are modern and comfortable. The location is excellent. Quiet and peaceful. The restaurant was amazing. Our meals were outstanding. Artic char was perfect. Great restaurant belying the location. Staff were friendly and we were very happy to be here.

Spent one night there, when driving from the east coast to Reykjavík. The beds were really comfortable, shower nice, but what I will remember most is the nature and how peaceful it was. We were lucky and saw amazing aurora lights while relaxing in the hot tub. Definitely recommend and will for sure go there again!

Our room at Black Beach Guesthouse was modern and had everything we needed (even a small fridge), even though it was a bit small (and we even got the larger room). The bathroom was a bit small too but it was clean nevertheless. The only downside was the rather big step you had to make to get in and out of the shower. The guesthouse does not have any stuff you get in and out of the building using lock pads. This is the same for the rooms too. There is parking right in front of the building. However, there was no lift and we had to carry our bags from the stairs and through some heavy doors. The location is ok. There weren't many things in the area but the guesthouse is in close proximity to other towns like Selfoss.
