We have just returned from a weej's stay in Villa Vani. This is a very relaxing place to stay with an amazing view of the whole of Marina di Ragusa and more. The heated swimming pool is perfect to relax when the sun is shining. The breakfast is a very basic Italian one however the coffee machine provides very tasty coffee. The facilities in the kitchenette/dining area provides a hob and microwave should you wish to cook food from the local supermarkets/butchers. A car is necessary for travel and we enjoyed travelling around the south east of Sicily. Villa di Vani is an ideal location for travel. We experienced 3 days of thunderstorms & heavy rain which blocked some of the roads. We still travelled and experienced the great culture of family/locals Sicilian life. The views of the storm from Villa Vani were also amazing. The decrease in the value of the pound means the cost if eating out around Marina di Ragusa is very similar to Greater London. The food however continues to be very tasty. We were greated at the guest house by Pepe, one of the son in laws from the family run business. Pepe was very welcoming and suggested we went for lunch at the nearby family run, organic restaurant, La Masseria. The food and ambience is amazing and I have written a separate review for this amazing place.

Mayana is located in the countryside, but only 500 metres from the beautiful beach and dunes (blue flag) of Santa Maria del Focallo (Ispica, Ragusa). The property consists of more than 5,000 m2 of garden and two separate buildings: Casa Mayana (the main house) and the Villa (with its three suites). Both the house and the 3 suites are the perfect place to disconnect and enjoy the moment.
When I arrived at Mayana I was warmly greeted by Annabelle and by Lilly, a most friendly and gentle dog. Driving through the gate was like driving into a little paradise. The cube-like building containing three suites, the house and the kitchen cottage are situated in a beautifully maintained garden with lemon and orange trees. It is a wonderful place to relax, be it winding down in a hammock watching the cats play or be it strolling to the nearby beach (if you prefer take one of the bicycles) where you can take kite-surfing and SUP classes or rent the equipment. Morning and evening yoga classes are also available nearby. The spotless rooms are optimised to be both functional and stylish and have a sitting area in front, and they show that much thought and love went into the design. The delicious and healthy breakfast deserves a special mention. Every morning Annabelle conjures up a varied range of home made delicacies. And last but not least, Annabelle and Mayo are a lovely couple who go the extra mile to make their guests feel at home.

My wife and I made our reservation through Booking.com, this was for a suite with balcony, breakfast included. We arrived for our 3 night stay late afternoon to be met by the owner/manager? who checked us in. We were informed that breakfast was not being offered in the hotel and we were given vouchers for a cafe downtown in Modica ! 1. Two routes to the cafe, 1.5km round trip by road, or 1.4 km using 68 steps down to the main road, and then 68 steps back up on the return journey !. Walking was the only solution with parking being an impossibility 2. At the cafe I was told the voucher had a value of €5, that gave me an orange juice, coffee and croissant - no jam. 3. Through the tourist board office we attempted to contact the hotel, the person who checked us in had disappeared, never to remerge during our entire stay, never anybody at reception. 4. Balcony, yes, but just capable in letting a person stand 5. TV, no International channels 6. An ancient bed that creaked at the slightest movement 7 .Hospitality tray but with no milk provided 8. Usually we would expect a settee or comfortable chair in a suite, we had a table and 4 chairs 9. Terraced garden on several levels, only seating metal chairs 10. Street parking impossible, free parking 450 metres away It is a travesty to call this a luxury hotel Be warned

Little paradise with hosts who love what they do. Breakfast is excellent with fresh products and handmade cakes, marmalade, fruits from the garden etc. The swimming pool area is unique, with amazing view. Rooms are great, clean, well equipped. Staff were always helpful, and they really have the passion for treating guests the best way they can. We could easily have stayed longer…

We are a couple in the mid seventies and were on holiday with another two couples. This is a family run business, and Carmelo and his wife Laura were extremely attentive and accommodating. The accommodation is new, well appointed, comfortable and clean. The continental breakfast was excellent. The hotel is well positioned to tour the surrounding beautiful and historic sites in the area.

CONSIGLIATISSIMO!!!

The Danieli Hotel, is a modern and elegant 4 star hotel, located in the town of Pozzallo, lively sea town of about 19,000 inhabitants. The Hotel is the perfect base for visiting the wonderful sites and architecture of the typical Baroque style of the Val di Noto, Scicli, Modica, Ragusa , Noto and other fantastic places such as Taormina, Catania, Siracusa, Ragusa and Agrigento. The Danieli Hotel is located about 1 km from Pozzallo. It is easy to reach from the SS 194 (Catania-Ragusa), from the Rosolini exit - 15 km (Catania-Gela). It is located about 50 km from the airport of Comiso and 120 km from Catania airport. The Danieli Hotel is on two floors and arranged with 26 rooms. They are divided between 23 double / triple rooms and 3 suites. All rooms with balcony or veranda are serviced by a heating/cooling system and are equipped with double bedroom, wardrobe, mini bar, writing desk, TV corner, and a safe, a bathroom with shower, bidet, hair dryer and complimentary toiletries. The structure includes: the bar / lounge and its veranda overlooking the large swimming pool-solarium, reception, TV room, luggage storage, elevator.
A clean hotel with sufficient amenities but what a horridly unfriendly welcome. A very moody woman shouted, 'if you want food, you have 2 minutes to get to the restaurant as it will close at 9pm'. Check in was harassed and I was told immediately they needed to know what we wanted for breakfast, not having had dinner yet. Table service was appalling. Guests were looking around to see other reactions. Food was OK though. Room was clean and big, but bed and pillows seen better days. A shame as could be a good hotel if it wasn't for unfriendliness.

Niria is located in the historic centre of Ragusa,in a building from early 20th century. Easy to reach, Niria is the ideal place to easily visit the charming Ragusa Ibla, pearl of Baroque. The property has several rooms on different storeys, each room has its own private bathroom, soft bath towels for each person, soap bars, shampoo/shower gel, hair-drier, indipendent air-conditioner and TV 32".
I paid $40 for a quite nice room in the center of town after that cam the the disappointment the property does not serve breakfast despite claiming they area a B&B, they give you a voucher for a coffee and croissant (EUR 3 maximum value) at a cafe across town, nowhere on this voucher does it list the name or address of the cafe and of course nobody actually staffs the premises of B&B then despite them claiming free wi-fi, that service is "farmed out" too from a provider that demands your email and mobile phone number after you enter some 15 digit code then you must log in each time you use wi-fi again with a different 16 digit code and some odd password
