We very much enjoyed our stay at The Frog. Every little detail gave us a relaxed feeling. And all the animals like to be with you. We had a great time and would choose again to stay here. Be aware that most restaurants are closed at Tuesdays.

This hotel was about half the price of other luxury hotels and so you might think the quality would be lower but really, our stay was really good. The views from our balcony were really beautiful. The room was great. They did a great job landscaping and so there is a nice walk around the grounds with a stream and lots of greenery. There is a nice indoor play area for toddlers and a big lawn with hay bales. There is a rooftop restaurant with incredible views all around. The staff were helpful and friendly. Even the pool was nice though there is no staff around to order food or drinks, meaning you have to hike to the lobby to order something. That kind of leads to the drawbacks. If you have a stroller or you are in a wheelchair or elderly, you will be doing a lot of walking of stairs because I don't believe there is an elevator from the ground floor and reception is two floors up. There is no signage either when you drive in of where reception is. There is no fitness but I knew that going in and I guess that is part of the reason for a cheaper price. But really, would it hurt to throw a bench press and some dumbbells in a room? For jogging, you have to go down the road and turn left away from the highway towards the temple and not much traffic on that road though the temple dogs aren't so friendly. But though my wife loved the ample and varied Thai breakfast, my big negative was the lack of a western breakfast. Yes, they had eggs and bacon, that was good but no waffles and no pancakes. First hotel I have ever stayed in without pancakes and waffles. Just two choices of cereal: Corn flakes and some chocolate flakes...so really...no cereal. Only whole milk, no choice of milk. Only high sugar yogurt, no Greek yogurt. No oatmeal. The most amazing thing was the lack of fruit. I mean it's Thailand...the country of like 1000 fruits and every market in Khao Yai is brimming with fruit and every day it was cantaloupe and watermelon...for 5 days straight! Like you can't go buy a few bananas or grapes and chuck them on the buffet? No blender to mix up a smoothie? No dried fruit. Only the cheap brand of jam and two flavors. Ok, it's breakfast, just eat it and move on, but breakfast is an important inclusion of the price you are paying and though the Thai breakfast was fantastic (my wife raved about it) the western breakfast was just...non existent. Geez...put a little effort into it. I guess I was the only westerner there though during our stay so I can see why it's not a priority. :) Overall, fantastic hotel and even though I would give it 4 stars because of the lack of fitness and breakfast, I will give it 5 because I really hope for these local hotels competing against the big chains. Plus the price is good, the staff were really friendly, the views are awesome and the grounds are really well done.

A small house converted into a B&B is good for a short weekend getaway. The place was fine with the owner managing everything. she was very helpful and driving us to the nearest dinner place and tips in and around the area. The bedroom was small a but clean and had necessary things. The bedroom looked onto the garden which was lovely. Breakfast was a set menu prepared by the owner and her staff. Getting around - not too far from many places - just that having your own vehicles helps. Ah, the property is located within a larger gated community, so good for walks.

Overall our stay here was pleasant. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms large and comfortable. The main comment I have is that it would be nice to see more gardens and so have less concrete. We were here during the week and our small group of 10 were the only guests during our 2 night stay. We were touring each day, so mostly our time here was evening and morning so our experience is more specific to the accommodation rather than a place to just “hang out”.

I have recently visited the penthouse. We have stayed in the four bedrooms for the family trip, as i have my family and friends paying a visit in Thailand and it would be good to bring them outside Bangkok to experience the local life. The host is very nice to introduce the place and helping me to arrange the trip around Pakchong including UNESCO World Heritage - Khaoyai national park and the place around. The place is a second home and not the hotel, so we do not expect the hotel service and prepare our own food. The location is around 15 minutes from the main road and 20 minutes from the hypermarket Tesco. The penthouse is huge for our group of 8 and we are very glad to find the place is well prepared upon our arrival. We have prepared BBQ for our dinner around the balcony and it's a very good experience.. The area is quiet but beautiful. The view from the balcony is beautiful especially early morning, in which we prepare our own breakfast. We have a nice stay and thnak for the hosts.
