Zebula Golf Estate & Spa is a stunning and totally unique lifestyle destination a mere 2-hour drive north of Johannesburg in the magnificent malaria-free Waterberg region of Limpopo Province. Singles, couples, families, and groups will be delighted at the quality and range of accommodation available at Zebula which ranges from 5-star to 4-star lodge rooms as well as splendid luxury homes for families. The Peter Matkovitch-designed golf course has been awarded the Compleat Golfer 5 Star Golf Experience award from 2010 to 2013. Zebula boasts a variety of restaurants as well as 8 conference venues on the property. We have ample activities like educational Elephant and Wild Raptor Bird interactions, safari's to see the Big 5. We also have a fully equipped Gym, squash and Tennis Court and much more. The Spa at Zebula offers a wide range of treatments and therapies that will have you spoilt for choice. Zebula is truly the place to be in the Bushveld.
I last came to Zebula 7 years ago when it was “twinned” with the next door, same-family owned resort, Mabula. At that time the twin strategy was a great idea as Mabula had great game drives but poor dining and Zebula had lesser game drives but possessed a golf course (not great but a nice change), nice bars and a really quite good restaurant. One could freely book into the next door resort, and many guests did. There has presumably been a falling out. Mabula has improved its offering substantially (separate review). Nevertheless, we drove over to Zeb to have a looksee and the first change was to be charged to enter the estate (only £5 but still a surprise). Then we discovered: - dreadful bar area complete with excruciating karaoke (even if you like karaoke, this was dreadful); - poor food menu, mostly fast food that was very poorly prepared; - the (formerly excellent) balcony restaurant is permanently closed. Of course, COVID has damaged the hospitality sector globally and the owners may have felt the need to make changes in order to fulfil new / any available demand. However, I’m afraid that for my group the changes are exclusively awful. We didn’t go back and never will.

Moya Luxury Bush Villa is located on Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate, close to the center of the lovely little town of Hoedspruit in the heart of South Africa's Limpopo lowveld, surrounded by pristine African wilderness of the Greater Kruger National Park. Moya is a place where the soul soars, where you arrive as a stranger and leave as a beloved member of a vibrant, extended African family.
We enjoyed our stay, the staff was friendly and food was great! I wouldn't mind to book that place again. We were served that kings and queens. I would like to come with the group of our friends to experience the place.

Call of the Wild Lodge is ideally situated in the incredible surroundings of Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate. Being a gateway to the Kruger National Park, we offer affordable accommodation right on the doorstep of the Kruger Park but with the added advantage of being able to cycle, walk and even horse ride in the confines and safety of the estate. There are 3 dams with hides for game viewing and a 25km cycle track. Let the sounds of the birds and wildlife awaken all senses at our luxury lodge. A personal experience is provided with the knowledgeable owners Sue and Deon. Their passion for the bush and willingness to share will provide you with an unforgettable experience. The lodge is small and intimate, yet privacy is ensured by having private entrances to the rooms.
We stayed for 1 night with a group of 6. Everything was perfect from start to finish and Deon & Sue were amazing hosts. Location, cleanliness, breakfast all perfect. The Birdlife was unreal and it was just lovely sitting around enjoying the marvels of nature. Only regret is we only stayed 1 night but we will definetly be back.

Great as a home away from home. Marlin and Pieter are ever present to client needs and a bit of conversation:) I'm a very private person and my room was unfortunately overlooking the breakfast/open garden area so was less private and I had to keep my curtains closed. I could also hear my neighbour's television, toilet and snoring?

Situated three hours north of Johannesburg lies Fifty Seven Waterberg, a gem nestled in the heart of the Welgevonden Game Reserve and home to the Big Five in a malaria-free area. The Waterberg Biosphere Reserve was declared an official UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001. This magnificent five-star establishment is synonymous with tranquility, solitude and luxury; not to mention the surroundings of the breath taking panoramic views of the Waterberg mountains. Guests can unwind next to the infinity pool that overlooks a shallow valley and mountain stream that flows to a waterhole. The ten spacious suites are placed strategically along the small hill to provide maximum privacy and intimacy. All are equipped with king-sized beds and relaxing private deck where you can unwind while listening to the birds sing. The honeymoon and luxury suites have their own private splash pools for the ultimate distressing pleasure or sipping on a glass of sparkling wine.
Check in process was seamless. Food was exceptional. Staff were kind, accomodating and professional. They went out of their way to make the birthday celebration a memorable one. Rangers are knowledgeable and friendly. Spectacular game drives with tons to see - up close to the big 5. Every need was catered to

We had the opportunity to return for a weekend breakaway and returned to Olievenhoutsrus. We found this guest-farm such a pleasure. We were welcomed back as friends and both Sandra and Delmar were gracious hosts, We stayed in a new upgraded room and my son was accommodated in his own room. The farm is well stocked with bushveld animals and the condition of the veld shows a carefully curated wildlife management practice, I can most definitely recommend this guest-farm to anyone that wants a quality breakaway!

I wanted to keep my review short and sweet. We had a spontaneous decision to spend a weekend away for some quality time. What a surprise to arrive and get the friendliest greeting at this fabulous venue. We had a great nights sleep (which often you cannot say) See you guys hopefully before the end of the year... 10 out of 10
