IVY uses "1K" which was mainstream around 1985-1995. . The rental property specifications reflect that era. "1K", which can be said to be the product of the bubble period, is the first single type in Japan with a private toilet and shower in the private room! There was no washing machine in 1K at this time, and it was common sense to use a coin laundry for washing alone. In the bubble period, land in Tokyo Ginza with an area of one cigarette box was 100 million yen. It was an era when land prices were the highest in the world. Rents for rent are also expensive, and in order to reduce rent, all equipment must be installed efficiently in a small space. It was a dream property for young people at a time when they had to live alone in the city to go to a good university or a good company. Here, unlike accommodation for sightseeing, it is a residence where old Japanese lived normally. It is a valuable space where you can shop, eat, and simulate living in Kyoto. It is a small Japanese size, but please enjoy it as a valuable experience.
The communication was very easy and they gave us all instruction to reach the apartment fast from the station (only 15 minutes). The apartments are clean and have all what you need. We had a very good experience

The hostel features a spacious shared living area containing a fully-equipped kitchen and comfortable lounge. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the entire hostel. We are also able to provide you with a bike for 500 yen per day. Thanks to our pin controlled front entrance we are able to provide a secure environment without the need for a curfew. We invite you to relax in this historic building, enjoy a friendly, fun and intimate atmosphere, surf our top-of-the-range internet and make yourself at home! Our knowledgeable staff will help you navigate the city by providing a free map and directing you, by the best and most affordable way, to the many points of interest in Osaka. Old townhouse has been restored into contemporary accommodation retaining its traditional Japanese style. Please take a note our building as it's an old wooden house has no enough sound proof. Also, All our facilities are on shared basis as we are designed with independent young travelers in mind. We are a hostel and not a hotel or Ryokan. We are focused on giving you a fun and cheap way to travel, rather than providing luxuries.
This Hostel was super great to sleep and to meet people. Very helpful staff even after I left my package was returned to the hostel and they send it back to me. Place is clean and tidy and in a great neighborhood. Safe and also great to see the city by rental bike that they offer! Definitely go here, you will enjoy!

I like the location and its walking distance to Kyoto station or subway and near a convenient stall. Breakfast, you are given three choices (if you don't take beef, then only 1 choice or if you are vegetarian, also one choice). Room is small with a handwashing area. The bed is not very comfy and the mattress is a bit thin. The extra pillow is available. And the soundproof of the room is not great. Washing machine and dryer are available and it's free. Each floor, there is a male and female toilet and the shower area is very interesting. ONSEN!!!! Spacious and i kind of like the onsen especially after a long day.

MIMARU KYOTO NISHINOTOIN TAKATSUJI is an apartment-style hotel, 10 minutes on foot from Shijo station that is in the down town Kyoto. Guests can enjoy rooms equipped with kitchens and separate baths and toilets. Enjoy beautiful Kyoto with friendly staff and spacious rooms!
Mimaru was a really simple place to stay. Simple as in there are no meals or onsen or pools at the accommodation. But it was SPACIOUS for our family of five, with separate sleeping areas for the kids and parents. It was clean and there was a lounge dining area and kitchen. We could eat out or bring back take away or eat our own food, whichever we chose. It was also in a really convenient location to see Kyoto. In our case, we had a car, and there were inexpensive parking stations nearby to keep the car overnight, as directed by the hotel staff.

After we’d recovered from the shock of our greeting by two anxious dinosaur robots, we checked in and appreciated this hotel: very clean, large rooms, great breakfast in adjacent Molly’s The Craft Kitchen (where anyone can eat during the rest of the day), and it has a terrific location close to the station.

Hotel
Very Clean & Spacious Hallways, Large Public Bath, Nice, Quiet Rooms with Western Beds & a Seating Area, Pleasent View out the Window, & Free Parking- after 6:30 they lock the gate, we didn't mind because we had Delicious Half-Board Dinner Plan- can walk to Gion. The Buddhist Experience (optional) is free and open to anyone, but due to Covid-19, the visitors didn't chant out loud. Still, 12 to 14 priests were chanting so an interesting experience. We also got a discount for the Autumn Night LightUp at Chion-In which was quite enjoyable. The stairs change colors! A totally different way to see things. Dinner was really impressive and the Staff very Friendly.

Merveille Arima is a good Onsen Ryokan and it's convenient that this is the closest Ryokan to Arima Onsen Station!! It's good that their Onsen provide both "Gold Onsen" and "Sliver Onsen" and its outside bath is also good. It's staff are friendly.
