Located at the heart of Thamel, Hotel Yala Peak is a great base from which one can access to all that the lively city has to offer. With its convenient location, the hotel offers easy access to all the city’s must-see destinations. Impeccable services and all the essential amenities offered in this hotel ensures that the guests to have memorable stay.
I stayed here for two weeks and I was so glad that TripAdvisor reviews directed me here. The hotel is at the far end of Thamel down a side alley so it is quiet (bliss). The wifi is consistently excellent, there is tons of hot water and the rooms are clean and comfortable. There are terraces on the upper floors which are nice places to sit out. The Yala cafe (not the one attached to the building) serves nice fresh food, which can be brought to your room, a big pot of masala chai for 200npr - bargain! Some of the rooms have kitchens too. What really makes this place special though are the staff, there is always somebody helpful manning reception and every member of staff you meet always greets you with a big smile and a namastay. The staff were very knowledgeable and super helpful too and never tried to sell you anything either; you get the impression that nothing would be too much trouble for them. I will be returning to Kathmandu in a couple of months and I won't bother looking anywhere else Yala Peak is the perfect place for me.

Zostel Kathmandu is the liveliest & classiest backpacker hostel in Kathmandu. Located right in the city's backpacking hub, Thamel, there is no better pitstop for travelers to explore Kathmandu on budget. ‘Peace among chaos’ is the best way to describe the lively city of Kathmandu. The sensory overload of sights, sound, and smells one experiences on entering the city is soothed only by the sight of the mighty Himalayas watching over the city from a distance. The best way to explore the busy streets of the city is either on foot or on a rickshaw, marvelling at its ability to function amidst all the bustle, and the medieval temples it houses. Located in Thamel, Zostel captures the essence of the city. It consists of a rooftop bar, a garden cafe to soothe your hunger pangs and a huge rooftop hammock to soak in the sun making new friends.
Very friendly vibes just feels like home away from home. Food they serve is amazing. Housekeeping ladies are so good they clean the place all the time. Also they have inhouse travel desk where you can arrange various treks and other stuff. Staff are very helpful they always have answer for your question.. Definitely recommend this place.

Stupa View Inn is situated in a unique location. From the roof garden, you have panoramic 360° views of Kathmandu and parts of the valley surrounded by green hills, dotted with farming villages and well tended rice terraces. You can catch glimpses of the Central Himalayan peaks of Ganesh-Langtang and the Jugal Himal range.
Highly Recommended. The hospitality of Boss Rishi and on-site staffs Saroj & Muna are what made this cold winter warm. Extended my stay to a month long after booking for just 3 nights. Excellent view of Swayambunath Stupa from room and balcony where retreat prayers can be done. Will definitely choose to stay back here again.

Lotus Gems is the organization through which Tulku Karma Sangpo enacts all of his activities to bring temporal and spiritualbenefit to sentient beings both in the Himalayan region of Nepal, and throughout the world. The name ‘Lotus Gems’ is a translation of the Tibetan ‘Pema Norbu’, the name of Tulku’s root lama, HH Pema Norbu (‘Penor’) Rinpoche. Tulku Karma Sangpo explains: “I feel deeply fortunate to have met and been the direct disciple of a lama of such quality as HH Penor Rinpoche. He set the example for me of one who never thinks about himself, but only thinks about the welfare of others and how to accomplish it. Since I have the name ‘tulku’ I feel that I, too, should try my best to do whatever I can for others. “As human beings, we must try to understand the feelings and situations of others. All beings have the exact same right to be happy and to be free of suffering.
Calm hotel with great rooftop-terrace. Clean rooms, friendly staff. Walking-distance to Boudanath. The food is very good! My minus is: Reception called me at 8h to let me know, there was a breakfast-room, serving breakfast. I though that was really weird. I had never asked for a wakeup-call and obviously I knew about breakfast (which serves until 9:30h). I mean, it’s a three-star-hotel. Let people sleep, if they want. If I want to get up early, I’ll set my alarm. If I don’t turn up for breakfast at 8h, it means, I’m not having breakfast at 8h. Where will I be most probably? Right - in bed, sleeping. Really annoyed me. Sleep is holy, when traveling. Also, there’s no “do not disturb”-sign. So basically the hotel decides at what times you can get a rest. So, my advice: Tell reception actively to not wake you up, if you need some sleep.

Lovely staff made our stay very homely. They took care of us in providing the best possible food, hot water and arranging hotels in Pokhara too. This is very near to Pashupati Nath temple. The owner is extremely courteous and he took personal care to see that we had the best experience at Kathmandu
