Surrounded by one of Germany's largest wine-growing regions, Stuttgart beckons cultural junkies with its acclaimed ballet, opera and philharmonic, while auto fans get revved up over the Mercedes Benz Museum. There's more green space than urban sprawl in the festival-friendly city, home to Europe's largest zoo and botanic garden combo, the Wilhelma. The WÂrttembergisches Landesmuseum, in one of the city's oldest structures, traces area history from the Stone Age. Buses or subway provide handy transport.

Lomi is the Hawaiian expression for massage and means 'pressing, kneading, rubbing as well as working on the inside and the outside.' (intense massage) Lomi Tempelstyle (3 hours) This massage method was formerly reserved for priests, who used it mainly for initiation rituals. Today, I will accompany you with this massage if you are, for example, faced with life changes or feel the need to relax deeply. The temple style Lomi Lomi cleanses and reconciles the receiver with himself or herself. Open up, devote yourself to this touch and let go. An exclusive and intense short trip to Hawaii awaits! I work with an abundant supply of warm, fragrant oil that flows gently across your body. A Lomi, however, is not a caressing massage, but rather body work: Stretching and rotational movements alternate with many long strokes with the forearms. You will get the impression of waves gliding across your body and of a treatment that takes your entire body into account. Lomi Ho'oponopono (4-5 hours) During the Ho'oponopono Lomi Lomi massage, the entire body is massaged with warm oils using hands, fingers and forearms. The joints are loosened up carefully and the muscles are stretched gently. As a result of this body and energy work, the muscles relax and the mind comes to rest. Ho'oponopono is traditional Hawaiian healing work that has been handed down by the Allen Alapai' family, its members living on the island of Kauai, for 12 generations. Ho'oponopono means creating balance (Pono) and harmony. The intention is to let go of the four negative energies: anger, fear, sadness and envy. The goal is to become soft on the inside as well as on the outside and to get in touch with one's inner child by rediscovering a feeling of lightness. Shiatsu (1 hour) An independent system of energetic body work and life skills, originated in Japan. Translated literally, Shiatsu means 'fingerprint.' The theoretical basis of Shiatsu is similar to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), in which it is assumed that energy pathways, the meridians, run through the body. These meridians are comparable to our vascular and lymphatic systems. The goal is to balance energy patterns, to dissolve blockades and to strengthen the self-healing and developmental powers within humans. Shiatsu is an ideal remedy for stress, exhaustion and tensions. The security and tranquility of the treatment offers you the opportunity to feel yourself again, to rediscover your inner world and to gather new strength. Foot reflexology (0,5 hour) Foot reflexology is based on the knowledge of interrelations between certain areas of our feet and the inner organs, nerves and joints. The feet are hereby understood as mirror images of the entire body. This way, the self-healing powers of our bodies are activated, which results in a positive influence on the body and our physical well-being (e.g. in case of migraines, vegetative disorders, pains of the locomotor system, functional disturbances of the inner organs etc.). Make an appointment today! I am happy to adhere to your personal and individual wishes. Feel free to contact me.

This was one of the highlights of our trip!! Weather was very balmy for December which allowed us to spend a lot of time in the outdoor pool. The complex is kept super clean! With indoors and outdoors pools, different bubble-stations within the pools, it was a lot of fun and unexpected. Our timed-token had expired slightly, so we had to pay a bit extra. There are proper lockers for your clothes and belongings in the change room. You simply use the token the cashier gives you when you pay and place it into the slot of the locker which then releases a key-wrist-band. No need to put your valuables into a separate locker near the entrance. You’ll save a bit by not doing that. We took the subway to the closest stop then walked the rest of the way – a pleasant 15-20 min walk. When we came back, we took the bus to the subway stop. A nice area of town I would not have visited otherwise. Allow a couple of hours to make full use of your two-hour session plus getting there and back. Hidden gem, I would certainly go back.

Schwabenquellen looks quite unpromising from the outside, set alongside a modern hotel/casino/entertainment complex in Stuttgart's theatreland. But what a delight once you're inside and have worked out how to make your electronic wristband work the lockers! There's a whole world of relaxation to explore in there, large numbers of diiferent kinds of saunas from Balinese to Finnish, pools, jacuzzis, steam rooms, even an ice room set to -15 degrees if you're really feeling brave! Great to enjoy new experiences, like the salt grotto where you scrub vanilla sea salt over your skin and allow the steam to liquify it. And how often do you get a chance to try one of these comedy showers where you pull on a string and a bucket of water tips over you! My favourite area on a baking hot day was the extensive beach bar area, where you can be served cold beer (tab is maintained via your wristband) and lounge around on an impressive selection of sun loungers, bean bags, hammocks while perfecting that all-over tan, while feeling really sand between your toes. Although being a German spa, nudity is compulsory, it takes about two minutes to get accustomed to that, and you can always wrap a towel around you if you're feeling particularly bashful. But really, why bother? I enjoyed it so much that I went back again to catch the rays one last time for a few hours relaxation between checking out of my hotel and heading to the airport for my flight home. I'd recommend it to anybody. Pure bliss!
