Top 10 Spas & Wellness in Pudong, Shanghai Region

May 22, 2021 Myesha Cogley

The largest city in China is also its most cosmopolitan, offering visitors a chance to experience the past, present, and future all at once. The Huangpu River splits Shanghai into two districts: Pudong and Puxi. The Pudong skyline looks like it was ripped from the Jetsons, with the bulbous Oriental Pearl TV and Radio Tower looking a bit like a two headed lollipop. On the Puxi side, you can walk the Bund riverside district to get a taste of old Shanghai.

Gokurakuyu

Reviewed By LavenderFive - Shanghai, China

I live in Jinqiao and am so excited to find Gokurakuyu. It's a Japanese-style bath house (very similar to a Korean jimjilbang and sauna but without the super-steamy rooms). There's a great co-ed section where you go in and out of warm and hot rooms (there's a cool room, too), a snack bar and restaurant, massage area, games area, and single-gender saunas with lots of pools of varying temperatures. Allocate 4-5 hours to visit and leave feeling refreshed and detoxed!

This shop seems the smallest in size among the few Dragonfly retreats I have visited. But it did not failed me in their level of services and professionalism. The experience was as awesome as I had in other Dragonfly shops. BiYun receptionist Hedy was welcoming and she greeted me with big smile when I entered the shop. Unfortunately all massage therapists were busy so I tried their nails services instead. Anna was professional and attentive. She recommended me the organic handcare and footcare treatment. It took about 90 mins and the experience was awesome. I had numerous massage services in the past but never realize that nails treatment feel so relaxing and wonderful as well. It begins with basic manicure, pedicure, follow by hand and foot treatments that ends with basic hand massage. I will definitely try their nails services again.
