Find out what Spanish restaurants to try in Sarria. Sarria is a municipality in the province of Lugo, northwestern Spain, in the autonomous community of Galicia. Sarria is the most densely populated town on the French Way in Galicia, with 13,700 inhabitants. It is head of the region and a popular starting point for the Camino de Santiago; many pilgrims choose Sarria because the distance from this point to Santiago allows them to cover the necessary kilometers to reach the Compostela. Sarria also represents the point of entry to the beautiful landscapes, such as Os Ancares and O Courel, east of Galicia.

On the third night of our Camino adventure we had decided that we were not going to be Pilgrims, tonight we were going to embrace Friday night is Pizza night and go to a local Pizzeria. As we headed out from the Hotel, the owner asked where we were heading and suggested an alternative which appears in the Michelin Guide but 'is not so expensive'. We were so glad sge did.Surprisingly Restaurante Roma offer a Pilgrim's Menu for a whole â¬6 more than the going rate. Honestly, words fail me - this place is amazing - a little off the beaten track for Pilgrims but we'll worth the effort. My daughter and I opted for the egg and mushrooms, served with copious amounts of succulent prawns, and were blown away by just how goo this was. My wife chose mixed salad and received a delicious and beautifully present dish complete with tuna, egg and asparagus. For mains my wife chose veal while my daughter and I had the Grilled Salmon and both were simply amazing and cooked to perfection. My wife then had a delicious rich and creamy chocolate mousse for dessert and my daughter ordered a crepe with ice cream and chocolatr sauce. This was accompanied by an astonishingly good white wine. How often do you get Michelin quality food for three with wine for â¬48?Can't recommend this place highly enough and would return in a heartbeat if we are ever back in Sarria.

Having arrived into Sarria at lunch time ahead of my friends I decided to try this restaurant because I like trying out local 'non-touristy' eateries and it was close to our lodgings. It was very busy and well patronised by local customers when I entered. The bar counter and the seats beside it were full. No problem, I was found a seat in the main dining area. In addition to a full menu, it also had the expected Menu del Dia, which was three courses (with choices) plus bottle of wine for only â¬9. Very enjoyable it was. I had to get help finishing the wine!!Our group having walked around the town that evening, and having sampled some tapas & drinks in other establishments, decided to give O Descanso a try for our main evening meal. They were not disappointed. We had a very enjoyable meal, with a selection of good local Spanish food. Service was friendly and efficient. Value excellent. It may not be the most attractive of restaurants and is not in the main tourist area of the town but strongly recommended if you like the 'local' touch.

I had the opportunity to enjoy the homemade pizzas in this place and they are absolutely delicious. I totally recommend them if you want to experience something different since they are made with typical Galician products, cheeses and veggies.Do not miss this place even if you are not planning to have something to eat. Only the decoration of this place deserves a visit. It is like a museum for movie fans, specially if you are a Star Wars geek...In addition, if you go for a drink they have always a good selection of FREE tapas... delicious!!

Iâm sitting eating desert in this lovely little restaurant. I was told that as you enter Galicia the food gets better. It was no lie. We had stopped off for a glass of wine but decided to stay based on the gorgeous tapas presented with the wine and the great service from Josef. An incredible menu del dia for â¬9. A bruschetta and ham starter followed by fried chicken and chips plus desert. What a treat to eat properly prepared food from a chef who wants to please. Do yourself a favor and eat here. And try the great wines on offer.

We ordered 9 dishes incl steak, prawns, octopus, white asparagus, clams, melon con jambon. Everything was good. Very reasonably priced. Only slight problem was inability to communicate with waitress. We had asked for leftover steak to be packed to take away but it ended up being thrown away.

Staying in Sarria and went out for dinner on Saturday night before commencing last 115km.Had an early dinner, probably a little to early so missed the gathering of locals with all the colour of a typical Spanish dinner.Shared platters of Bread, Spanish potato omelette and Pulpo. Very tasty, octopus very tender and flavoursome. Also shared a bottle of Lagsr de Robla which set of the flavours nicely.Unfortunately could not finish all as very filling.

We were staying in the hotel attached to this restaurant and chose have dinner here rather than go in to Portomarin - and we are so glad we did.Our waiter was very helpful and advised us on an amazing white wine to a company our meal.Opting to skip starters we all opted for a meat based main course. My daughter chose and loved the barbecue pork, while my wife opted for the lamb and I picked the veal chop. All were expertly prepared and beautifully presented. For me the veal stole the show - it was simply huge and cooked to absolute perfection - succulent and very tender. We all opted for the baked cheesecake dessert and thoroughly enjoyed it too. This restaurant is in a beautiful location with fantastic outlooks and I only wish we could spend more time here but the Camino beckons and our journey must continue.Would 100% recommend this place to all travellers.
