Reviews on Spanish food in Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France. This beautiful fishing town on the Mediterranean Sea glimmers with sunshine and charm—so much so that Vincent van Gogh captured the streets and seascape of Saintes-Marie-de-la-Mer. In between lunching and shopping, visit the monolithic Church of Three Saints, a stone Romanesque church that was built in the 12th century. That, plus museums and bullfight arenas, will stimulate your cultural yens. Savor fresh fish and plump shellfish at any one of Sainte-Marie-de-la-Mer’s exquisite cafes and restaurants.

Popped in for a Cocktail before a visit to El Campo, great value at only 7 Euros each. Mojito and Sex on the Beach went down well.Worth a visit, small area but lovely atmosphere.
My boyfriend and I visited this restaurant twice when we stayed in SMDLM. We had decided for our last two nights to return to the best two restaurants we ate at during our first 8 nights, and this was one of them (the other was Cave del Huitres for seafood). The food here is very good, and reasonably priced (around EUR14 for a good quality burger, EUR18 for steak tartare).Friendly service and you don't feel as penned in with tourist traps as elsewhere - there is a nice open area with fountain to the side. We would definitely recommendThank you very much.

We walked around Saintes-Maries looking for our kind of restaurant - original, local, tasty food and good value. La Bodega filled the bill completely with its chickpeas in cumin, spicy cod dumplings, sardines and freshly-baked bread. The staff were helpful and we all enthused about the food. The location is great, being alongside the main square and benefiting from the sun at lunchtime. The cosy roadside terrace was lovely and we were entertained by the men playing boules in the Spring sunshine.

We've eaten here before & enjoyed our lunch. I had the â¬16.50 menu & had the fish soup followed by the rougets, my wife had the moules frites at â¬11.50. With a demi of rose the bill came to â¬42, quite reasonable. Friendly staff.

As is often the case in France, it was difficult finding anywhere in Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer that was open for dinner earlier than 7pm. We were hungry and tired after a long day of driving and so decided to dine at this touristy-looking place, as it was one of only a few open choices. The service was friendly but casual - our French is poor, so it was likely the reason I needed to ask twice for my glass of wine. We ordered conservatively - the ubiquitous mussels and chips. Chips were pre-frozen and forgettable, but the mussels were juicy and sweet and the simple sauces delicious.

Large outside seating area and smaller inside area. Food average but OK. Service adequate. Great area for people watching whilst eating and drinking. We only had the bruschetta and drinks. Toilets are monitored for guests only using

We had a late lunch here. The service was very slow and disorganised. The chef appeared to go out of the restaurant frequently and chat on his phone, and the waitress did not help herself by not multitasking at all.Two of us had Crostini which were overdone, but ok. I had a salad with melon, tomato, mozerella and feta ( left out the ham for die try reasons). It was fabulous and some of the other dishes looked amazing. It's a real shame, the potential is there for this to be a 5 star rating with not a lot of work as they can clearly serve great food. It's a nice ambience and a good location in the little square.Unfortunately it has to be a three.

Very popular restaurant notable for the Flamenco band that plays on certain evenings. Supplement of 3 euros added to bill for each person to cover cost.. All the players from the same family- they sell their CD's at the end. Food good- service remarkably prompt considering how busy they get. Booking essential- we as a group of 4 got the last table.
